Exclamation

I actually saw them taking one out the boot of the police car this week & erecting it in Doncaster. Loads more camera signs have gone up recently, I guess the hardware will be following.

Matbe now would be the ideal time to market a speed limiting device, so you choose your max speed and it won't let you exceed it ? A kind of aftermarket cruise control

scoob dood
already been done by a car hifi shop in my home town.
just a simple device that beeps or buzzes when you go over the pre set limits programmed into the device,30,40,60,70 .

quite annoying if you ask me,but it could save your licence.

Have they stuck some up on Wheatly(sp?) Hall Road yet? I noticed some signs went up about a month ago, but as of yet no camera's?

If you are from Doncaster, whats the accident rate down that road? Although its obvious that a lot of people break the limit down there, you don't get many people walking about until you get near the centre.

Was over in Donny about a week since. I didn't notice any new cameras, but I did notice the complete b*lls-up they've made of the junction near the new bridge. 25 minutes to do about a quarter of a mile. Those new lights that let folk from a side road filter out into a box junction that the main road can't enter, and then do it again 50 yards further on, are a nightmare.
FFS, who pays town planners, and WHERE do they train them?

To be fair though that road is really dangerous (especially dead mans hill). My brother is a firefighter at Ampthill and the amount of times he gets called out to that road with people dead or fatally injured in serious accidents is unreal.

^Qwerty^ - like I said, in Doncaster, there are loads of new camera signs up: Wheatley Hall Rd, & much of the area around the Racecourse, including Bawtry Rd. However, the one I mentioned is the only camera I have seen being put up as yet.

I have never seen an accident on these roads, but I do not know the actual rate. For most of these roads it would be rare to be able to get above the 40 limit anyway due to traffic density.

Thumbs up

Marc,
Yes I understand what you are saying but these camera's are about 4 to 500 meters apart on each side of the road just pass the seasons garden centre, and are no where near a bad bit of road.
Cheers
