OK, question for you. Anyone know of any very good and reasonably priced sports car hire places in the South East of england, pref near to Kent.
Am considering hiring a 911 turbo for a weekend in middle of Jan.
Anyone got ideas of pricing? ideally me plus someone else to drive, or just someone else.
Or, anyone got a 911 turbo they'd let me borrow for a weekend?

Markus I used these a couple of years ago http://www.bespokes.co.uk/ they are based in Watford, and I hired a 911. Was very good, cost me £500 for 4 days and thats was with an extra 200 miles allowance on top of the standard

Check out this lot:

In one year I had a Ferrari 348 for 5 days and various days with Caterham 7s, Porsche 911 RS, Porsche 996, Lotus Elise, Porsche 928 and a Mustang!! All unlimited mileage - I did over 1,000 in the Ferrari! All for about £2000. There is no catch!

Weren't there a few funny comments on here about Bespokes a few months ago, something about charging for non-existent damage? I specifically remember one s/netter saying they'd been told about damage, then when he said he'd compare it with the video he took of the car before returning it, they suddenly decided it didn't matter so much.
If search works, look for wedding car hire posts.
I remember as I had a curious conversation with them when I wanted to hire an Aston V8 for my wedding. First things were fine, then I thought the price was a tad steep (about 1300 notes for the W/e), then a few days later all cars were unavailable when I phoned back.
You in the US again Markus?

Aggree with Marc W, give James at the classic car club in london a call, or look at their website, they have branches all over the country now as well. I'd still be a member if Ken the **** hadnt added another two or so hours to my journey in/out of london Probably joining the Brum club next spring though
Good bunch of chaps and loads of cars, not got a 996 turbo but they have a GT3 which imho is better.
Nath.

I am currently in the Classic Car Club (Birmingham)..
I can heatily recommend them. Did a one off hire of the 348 then joined when I returned it.
You can use the points at other branches for different cars. They have a boxter at Brum but several 911's in london/Bristol & Scotland.
Unlimited mileage. Insurance included (excess of 1K).
Go for it!!

Not sure if its still the same as I was a member a couple of years ago now. The x/s on the insurance varies between cars from £100 - £2000 on the Ferrari. I paid an extra £100 or so to halve all the excesses for the year. Didn't need to claim though
Top lads at the club. I'll never forget driving the Ferrari home on my birthday

The CCC looks really good - what's the point suffering 6k depreciation in a year when you could drive to work in a shed and drive an Aston at the weekend. I think it's the way forward.
Edited to say - have you seen Damon Hills car club - about 15k for membership www.p1international.com
