Check with the UK speedtrap bible.
I guess it's an indicated 96? Hopefully that'll be a "real" 90mph or less, in which case it should be just 3 points and fine I believe.
There was some discussion about being >25mph over the limit was a compulsory appearance, but I think there's a lot of difference in between interpretation of the rules between forces...

Wasn't that the night you woke up next morning, and you could have sworn the car had been moved in the night, but didn't want to waste police time reporting it, as it was back, no damage, and the police have better things to do anyway don't they, and........................

Does anyone else but you have access to the car? If there are other named drivers on the policy, tell them that you can't remember who was driving as there is a nice European Court law that states that it is against your civil liberties or somesuch, to self-incriminate.

I got 3 points and £40 for averaging 97mph over 1 mile on the M3, unmarked VR6 got me!. I think I may have got off alittle lightly looking at what everyone else has said!!
The copper did have a healthy interest in performance cars though

I was done via post (NIP) for 98 on the motorway which got me 3 points and a £262 fine. First offence, previously clean licence etc, etc.

4000rpm......exactly Sorry, I couldn't resist when I saw the numbers Close to a ban but you might get away with it if it wasn't pouring rain at rush hour.

If the radar detector, detects behind the car then yes it will. But it will probably have detected it by the time they have a reading. Early warning of NIP shall we say
If the radar is used in front of you on another car then you have a chance of the dector picking it up and warning you in adequate time.
Ask for the photographic evidence etc, etc
I should think you are looking at a court appearance, make the effort to go. Added costs of attendance in court are approximately £50-£60 IIRC, but could mean the difference between 5/6 points and 3.

Friend at work was caught at 96 with another car. They couldn't stop both so stopped the other he got 40 on the spot and 3 points! Mate had to go to court £200 fine plus 3 points. Tried to argue the point that is was unfair as it was 50 50 who they stopped. Judge said tuff

3pts and a fine ! Don't worry.. did exactly the same on a busy Friday afternoon on the A3 - Traffic car with radar gun at the side of the road, just didn't see him - although I was wondering why the fast land was so quiet !

Just to add me 10 pee:
got done on a quiet empty Sunday morning (8am) on the M2 - doing an average of 92mph. Got an SP50, 3 points and 60 squids.
I think you can probably expect the same, unless your license is not clean
best of luck

so this lasertec, is it operated by a copper on a bridge or something, or is it a stand alone thing? I thought the motorways were relatively free of speed cameras.

I got caught on the M4 in roadworks (50) doing 75 mph on a sunday morning at 8am (just slowed down from 3 figures+) I got a letter asking me who was driving and I decided to be honest and sent it back the same day saying me and I never heard anything else that was about 3 and a half years ago now Don't worry until you get done
