Heard about this yesterday. Boys have sent text messages to teacher. School has backed down and allowed them back.

Super Si, The teacher probably didn't give the number out, if the phone was in a bag or a drawer, it only takes a couple of seconds to ring a known mobile with it and you have the number, I know this has happened to me (under different circumstances I hasten to add).
It has long since ceased to amaze me, the lengths that the do-gooder liberals will go to to justify the actions of scum, why can't they just accept the fact that some people are scum & deal with it.
But I have to say it has amazed me that a member of this government has come out so quickly on the side of the victim, I wouldn't be surprised if Estelle Morris is soon out of a job.

I heard that there were voice calls that were witnessed by the police including ones with stabbing threats and one saying 'you have 5 days to live'.
The education authority standpoint is that the teachers should just get on with their job, do what they are paid for, and teach. The teacher who was threatened is currently off work sufferering from stress.
Also heard that the 2 x 15 y.o. involved are being taught at their school by support teachers who were dragged in specially to teach them as the other teachers refused to have them in their class.
And who pick up the bill for the support teachers?? We do!

Cane the little f**kers until they can hardly walk, and if their parents complain cane them too. Worked when we were kids, you never dreamed of even answering back to a teacher, let alone abusing one.

There is a radio interview with the mother on the BBC news website. She sounds just like Waynetta Slob
She only cares that her pond life kid is missing out on his 'education'. The problem is that the parents are no better than the kids.IMO

What is the problem?
The Boys did something wrong. The school reacted in a certain way (permenantly excluded them - expelled them in my day). Boys appeal (only natural justice after all), and get the punishment reduced on appeal.
You get caught by a copper driving at, say, a few MPH over the limit. Magistrate decides to remove your licence. You appeal, sentence gets reduced on appeal.
So what are you saying? No right of appeal? - seems a bit harsh if you lose your licence. The appeal came to the wrong verdict? - maybe, but that is probably down to the school/police providing the wrong evidence or using the wrong procedure.
Personally I hope that the kids get their second (or whatever) chance, are watched very closly, and get what they deserve.

I just really liked the way the mother of one of the boys said about the death threats "they were only winding him up" well you stupid b1tch, ill call you at home, make theatening remarks and tell you that ill kill you, i bet you wont think its a bit of fun or just a wind up then will you? and i bet that she will want whoever it is caught and punished for it!
Apart from the fact that she cannot control her kid(s) and hasnt taught them right from wrong i think that they should be punished for the crime they committed, Malicious calls, death threats etc.... the malicious calls have up to a 5 year prison sentence, not something that many people know and you cannot get away with it either! I just hope that these kids get a good smacking down a dark allyway to give them a taste of whats to come if they carry on like this

She says her son "is not a violent boy" and would not threaten anybody.
I saw the mother (Sue Aldred) on the BBC Breakfast and Sky News this morning, and can't believe how arrogant she was. She could do with a spell inside to drum into her tiny, biased little mind what fear is all about

[School Vice Chair of Governors Hat On]
The school governors [unpaid pillars of the comunity ] made a perfectly legal decision following standard procedures to exclude them.
If the government wants to overule then perhaps they should take over all the other unpaid duties that we governors do.
In the meantime IF another school wants to teach them then fine

Phil_Stephens:-
I am the Chair of Governors at a large Community School educating 11-16 year olds, this is real work and unpaid as you say.
The Headmaster excludes a pupil, and can, until the days of exclusion collectively add up to 5 or over, when the Governors have to convene a Disciplinary Panel to decide whether to up-hold the Heads decision OR to overturn it. I have overturned an exclusion on ONE occassion when in my opinion the school did not follow procedure (this was done to protect the school from an appeal which would have failed)
If the Governors Disciplinary Panel upholds the Heads decision then that should be it IMHO - BUT the parents can appeal to an independant panel ..... which is what happened in this case
On Monday last week we had a pupils exclusion overturned by appeal also - the teachers refuse to teach the pupil.
I am well into the same mess that the school mentioned is!!
And we are unpaid servants of the Education System - I can see Governors not having a Discipline Panel, why turn out on a cold November evening to meet with angry parents when you can stay at home and watch TV??

Guys - I "Teach" dissafected yr.11 (and some yr 10) at a college of F.E. The schools don't want them (bad for statistics) so the local authority pay the college a lot of (your) money to take them. Believe me it's a big and growing problem. As a former lecturer in mechanical and production engineering what I am doing now is both mind numbing and stressful. Most of my time is spent trying to control behaviour. They get benefits good kids never see, eg outdoor pursuits - quad biking, sailing, trips, free bus passes, free breakfast and lunch, even prizes for turning up! Some parents think the sun shines out of their a***
The two kids in question are exactly the sort I see every day, except I have up to a dozen in the class (If I'm unlucky and most actually turn up!) and at the moment there are four groups and a big waiting list.
Sleep tight and don't have nightmares. JohnD
PS I have great respect for school governors as long as they are aware of what goes on in the classroom.
