if you are using the sky remote eye thing to allwo the remote control to work in the bedroom then you need to apply power to the second UHF output to power it. The option is in the setup menu. Dont have access to a box at the moment to get the exact menu numbers but it wont be very far from the menu mentioned above....

I've just changed our sky decoder downstairs for a new (faster) one and we also have what appears to be an rf wire running to the tv in the bedroom so we can watch sky there from the same decoder in the lounge, just allows us to change channel etc. Everything is plugged into the new just like the old one was, but now we cant get a picture or change the channel over upstairs on sky.
anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like the RF output on the new box might be different to that on the old one, so the TV isn't picking up the signal.
Have you tried tuning in the TV upstairs to try and find the satellite picture?

I had the same problem, if you go into setup on the digibox there is a setting you have to switch on to allow the rf out thing to power up, cant think what it was called though. I will check when i get home Friday and repost it here for you. Or you could read the instructions that came with the magic eye unit, it tells you in there.

Similar problem - cannot get remote to work upstairs with IR eye thing - and picture upstairs has red lines around faces of people etc - what can this be? Poor RF signal????
I HAVE turned the RF2 output voltage ON in the Sony decoder menu...so that's not the issue - and IR eye works ok if plugged into back of box.
Signals are being fed up to a Global tv distribution thing....which is supposed to pass the IR stuff straight through....

press 'Services'
then 'system set up'
then '0'
then '1'
then 'select'
this will give you the installer set up page.
go to 'RF outlets'
set a RF level for the 2nd outlet (keep in mind the local TV ch freq. and keep it away from any VCR freq. incase of interferance.
go down and switch the second outletpower supply to ON
save the settings
then go tune the other set to find the RF that you set
Hope this helps.

All boxes rune the same s/w regardless of make.
The menu you want is hidden but if you follow the sequence Paul has given it will appear
press 'Services'
then 'system set up' (which is option 4)
then '0'
then '1'
then 'select'
this will give you the installer set up page
So from watching normally press "Services",4,0,1,"Select" and the menu should appear.
