My sister has just got this tele and it is the bollox its better than my Phillips flat screen and that is good.

Aparently there is a newer model coming out but its not as good and the surround around the screen is bigger

Toshiba picture quality is very good and it's a nice design. We looked at this one aswell. We decided on the Sony that we've now got, simply because it was a good price on the day. Used to have a Tosh television which my sister now has and it is still going strong after 5 years with no loss of quality on the picture etc.

Next door neighbour's got one. They seem to like it.

Personally though, I'd have rented one (as discussed) but if you've got the cash then....

Toshiba are good, but I wouldn't want it messing up my reception room decor, TV's are so fugly on the whole, which is where plasmas really score.

We've got the 32" version. Bought it after a long time spent deciding: picture quality, size of TV/ size of tube, 100Hz technology.
Got it off the net, £1100, when Comet/Curry's etc wanted £1595.
Had it 12 months, still haven't seen one better .

I was tempted to buy one until I checked Google Groups and Avforums.

Just a sample of what I found:

"I am currently waiting for a replacement due to the following problems:

Bright bars down the side (Toshiba claim these are a feature of the set).
The top of the screen seems to curve (although this could probably be sorted through the service menu)
After the TV has been on for a few hours, the frame rate seems to drop (as if the CPU can't keep up)
There are vertical bars on each side of the screen (reds become pink).

So I am hoping the replacement will solve some of this but if you read here

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showt...threadid=25216

you will find SIXTEEN pages of people with the same problems."

Just make sure you're 100% happy with the one you get.

Not bad TV the Tosh but not a patch on the Loewe Aconda series.

You have a look at them too?
