Dear All,
Ive currently decided, enoughts enough, and im leaving University after my 1st year. I managed 2:1/1st boarderline.
Im just wondering what Industry look for in a CV?
rather then just using a MS word Template, i want to do something individual but also professional.
Such as is it nesscessary to list every module/GCSE i took. etc
Thank you very much for your help
Simon

Firstly, and most importantly, if you are leaving Uni after one year you havent managed ANY qualification, so to say "I managed 2.1/1st" is bull****. The first year is easy - you are a drop out, a non-stayer of the course. How do you think THAT will look on a CV..."Well I was doing OK, but I left" ??? Great, you'll be MD by next week....
Secondly, what makes you think that you will get a worthwhile job without any higher education in this day and age? Do you want to be a tea boy or summat?
Best CV advice? Simple - have something worth putting on it!

Harsh but fair advice from Buzz You'll need a damn good reason for quitting Uni early. "I was bored and wanted to earn some cash" probably wont do for many employers.
People also look for Grammar and Spelling on CV.....

I agree. The employers won't give a toss about what mark you got for the first year.
a) The first year is always a piece-of-p*ss - particularly in computing degrees (many of which, including mine, assume absolutely no previous knowledge of computers).
b) The mark you got is irrelevant - the first thing they'll say is "if you were so sh*t-hot, why on earth did you leave?".
