These little bloodsackers are a real plague at the moment. So what prevents best an itching sensation the next morning? (hey, keep your mind on the topic!)
- Just keep the windows shut
- Flypaper (yeah, slow death)
- Blue lamp with an electric net around it thingy
Last night their sound reminded me of a squadron of WWII fighter planes, honestly.
Thanks

Sleep in a mozzy net! and/or keep the room shut up as much as possible.
An hour or so before you want to go to bed, nuke the room with fly spray. Pay attention to the ceiling, corners of the room, curtains, behind headboard, wardrobe etc.

We've just (at the end of the summer!!) put up mozzie netting around the windows using double sided tape. However, it seemed that one of those "plug it in all night and it releases poison gas slowly into your bedroom" things worked quite well up to then. We just went for the net as we don't want to have unexplained diseases when older.
Blue lamp and electricity - might be OK for the kitchen, they get mixed reviews, but no way for the bedroom. I couldn't sleep under neon blue light, and the crackling sound when one bugger gets fried, though intensely satisfying, would wake me up.
Good luck, mozzies are one of the things I hate most in life. I can handle dentists' drills, but the high-pitched whine next to your ear is guaranteed to wake me for the next 45 mins.

The best repellent I found is one which contains Deet, you can get it from camping shops, I was recommended to get one with about 50% in and it worked really well! The jury is still out on how good it is for you to use though but if malaria keeps spreading and we get more tropical conditions we will all be so wasted on Larium we won't care!!

Ok, so what does Jasmine use, then?
BTW if you use deet on your hands, let it dry first or you'll leave incriminating fingerprints in anything plastic lying around...
