Do you hate work?

My 2p's worth.
I work for a company that is tighter than a nats chuff. FFS some users are still using p75s with 64 mb on nt4.
I know what everyone is on, by various means and it annoys me that some gits are on a lot more than my paltry £22k a year. No training, and getting **** upon all the time, but I cant move without gettin expereince of other stuff.
I used to work for 2 large multinationals and the pay was good but I had to leave (my reasons, not theirs). I was on more at 20 than I am at 25, now that sucks some.
Ps anyone got any good novell/groupwise/nt/fw1 jobs goin in the north west ?
Edit 'cause I forgot how old I was lol

Mine's not too bad - again the ludicrous amounts of money to surf the net and post on SN all day are a big bonus...as is the company car and the flexible working hours, good people...

Yep, I'm in IT. I'm a C++ developer.
Well, it's easy. I'm so sh*t-hot at what I do that I can cover all the necessary productivity requirements within the first half-hour of the day. Which leaves the rest of the day available for surfing, emailing, etc.
Being a contractor helps too - nobody expects me to do any useful work at all.
what do u guys do, that u can get away with it??!?!

Raks - I work in a very specialised area of Telecommuncations.. So Specialised in fact that this company I now work for hired me 3 months before they needed to, just to make sure that they got me.

I think if you enjoy you job you are very lucky..
Other than paying to eat, if I didn't enjoy a job, I wouldn't do it. Life's too short to spend 8 hours a day hating what you do and wishing it was Friday....

Had two interests when I left school as a shy clue less kid..
Car and computers.. I wanted to be come a car mechnic.. my Dad pushed me into IT.. I am thankful he did as I have been able to spend some money on cars etc.. but I am bored and enjoy tinkering with my car and bike more in my spare time than I ever have at work doing IT... pays reasonably well.. in a bit of a hole though I cannot change to something else as my out goings are too high really.. wife and kid and house etc.. but you takes your choice...

Why are you telling the new company youy are on 15k?
Lie!!! say you are on 18k and would be happy to come and work for them for 20k... only way to get a decent pay rise in real time IT, or go contracting... although the market is dead at the minute and perhaps not the best time to be looking to do either IMHO...

And if they make a comment like that, you need to be able to tell them why you're worth the extra money. Point out skills you have which are relevant (but unused in your current job). Make a point of showing evidence of your enthusiasm and dedication.
You've got to fight for the extra cash....
