I was never a skater my self I preferred in line skates (as there were a bloody lot quicker on the roads ) a lot of my friends were/are skaters and it took them a long time to pick up something as simple as an ollie. They used to spend hours every day whilst holding on to walls to get the ollie higher and higher. If you want I'll ask one tomorrow and ask for suggestions.

Practice makes perfect.

1) Crouch down on the board, your front foot about the middle of the board, your back foot as far back on the tail as you can.

2) Jump up quickly, front foot first, completely taking your weight off the board, slamming the tail down just before you jump off the board. This makes the board try to flip vertically.

3) Now bring your front foot into play. As the board lifts, bring your front foot up and forward to get the board horizontal again.

4) Now you've done a 3ft ollie, let gravity bring you back to earth

Seriously though, don't expect to learn this in an afternoon, it took me months to manage to ollie up a kerb when I was young, never mind now with creaky knees etc.

Paul

PS Kickflips are as above but in stage 3, kick your front foot off the side of the board to spin it before landing...piece of pi55 lol
