It seems that the kerb outside my house is a great spot for half of the neighborhood kids to practice their skateboarding tricks on. The problem is that they dont actually move on these things but simply leap in the air trying to flick the board 360 degress before landing back on the board. The kerb is used to slide the under neath of the board over. The noise this generates is not only annoying but very distracting to my young daughter when she is trying to get some sleep. Obviously I dont want to do anything which would harm the kids or cause me to have a puncture when I drive past in my scoob. But does anyone have any suggestions.

I was thinking of those tiny little stones that could be dispersed strategically - what do you think?

Stones will make more noise when the boards go over them and can be easily swept away by a trainer.

Now Sand on the other hand is a ******* on a skateboard, but it need a fair amount which might look a bit daft!

Mmmm, difficult one this. I was a boarder when I was a nipper and I hated people like you, but now Iam old and responsible () I know where your coming from!

Have you tried just asking them telling them that your daughter is asleep??

I used to have a little kid next door who would play keepy ups with his football on my wall at the side of my house, one day I just went and screamed at him as I had a hangover and it worked!, his old man saw the funny side but I probably wrecked the next Michale Owen!!

how old are they ??? you could ask them to stop. try thinking what makes your kerb so good to grind on, you could build them a something to grind on a long bit of banister would be good or scaffolding pole something they can move

sledgehamm + kerb = no more grinding as kerb is now a pile of dust. Sorted. Council may have something to say about that though.

What about greasing up the kerb, the little ******* will fly across it so quick the only noise you hear will be the satisfying thud as said ******* break their a$$ bone on the floor

Get some epoxy resin or suitable glue and stick some stones to the kerb in strategic places. They'll soon stop when they start to knacker their boards....

...either that or get yourself a skateboard and ask if you can join them. You'll make skateboarding so uncool that they will burn their boards there and then! Problem solved

Something similar to Sti -

Get a drill, rawl plugs and screws, and put a line of screws along the edge of the kerb, drill out the heads so they cannot be taken out.

You could ask first though not all kids are a wasters.

Yeah I spotted them greasing the kerb the other day. We need to add the element of friction into the equation.

I have asked them nicely to stop and they do but the next night they are out again and I am sick of asking them. I live in a very quiet close and the noise of those boards when they hit the road echoes right through the house! Thats the trouble with new houses they are paper thin!

Hey, Russ - what about telling them you've just seen skateboards for sale at their local shop for £30 less than the lads paid for theirs?

They'll get all uppity, and then start infighting and arguing, and before you know it they won't have time to make any noise outside your house.

Actually, serious suggestion - why about parking the Scoob on the stretch of pavement that they're using to railslide?

Yeah, why not? I've heard there are ferrari owners who park on the road, so why not a scoob?

Arrow

reckon the 'gluing stones to the kerb' help - either that or have a convenient bonfire out from, you know ,with bits of old wood and skateboards

A hand full of chippings they use to re-surface the road will do.. as an ex-boarder I know that boards will not run over these things..
Just keep throwing them down until they find somewhere else... Probably your drive...

hire a stil saw and cut groves in to the pavement (if any one asks it's for draneage purposes ) it will stuff there boards up and they will move down the street

or drill a serious of holes along the kerb and fit Rawl bolts in to it ?
