Why Mars? Well, the Earth is about to be thwacked by a huge lump of rock in 2019 thus rendering the place uninhabitable (if you believe the press). Solution? There's another planet only a mere 40 million miles away (at closest) so why don't we move there?
Big question is - how would we do it? Ideas please.

Why Mars, i vote a new universe, after all if there are 11 dimensions and scientists now believe that another universe may be closer to us than our own clothes, why not try and find away of reaching it.

There has to be a way, and if not why not!

Read Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars/Green Mars/Blue Mars trilogy - he's got it all mapped out. First stop is to get some kind of atmosphere in place - preferably one made up of greenhouse gasses that will also get the temperature up. The polar ice caps are largely made up of carbon dioxide, which fits the bill rather nicely. So I'd start with some kind of method to liberate that gas. Then we move onto bio-engineered plants...

Mmmmm.... I was thinking of something that could be achieved before 2019. Moving between dimensions might take a bit more energy than we can realistically generate at the moment, and I don't know of any black holes in the near vicinity of Earth

Just watch total recall and do it that way, bagsy I get the bird with 3 ****..

Hmm I think you have to terraform Mars first, takes longer than 17 years I think Don't worry in 5 billion years time the Sun will do it naturally

My head hurts

start shipping Guinness to Mars now. By 2019 there will be enough to keep me and 100 chicks going until we repopulate the planet ( amd several others )
