I have one who works in Sheffield, one who works in Hartlepool.
They seem to be bringing me and their mum colds that we haven't had, on a regular basis.
Until my lad went up to Hartlepool, I'd hardly had a cold in three years, and then, nothing to moan about, (yeah, I know, even for me).
Now, we've had almost constant colds and throat infections since he started work. He has too.
Regional infections, whatever next?

No, but I used to get at least four colds a year. Now I don't.
Turns out the steroid inhalers can suppress the immune system if the dose is too high or if it is absorbed into the body via the mouth via improper use (so staying in the mouth instead of getting to the lungs).
Turns out the GP never prescribed a spacer, never gave me correct useage instructions. And failed to advise that I should rinse my mouth out after use. It also didn't help that he would arbitrarily triple and quadruple the dose when I had issues rather than referring me a specialist to find what allergens that caused a trigger.

When the soft Southerners move Oop North, their delicate little bodies can't cope.
