That didn't go well then....
Yesterday I attempted to remove and renovate the high pressure diesel pump off my Corsa.
Got it off OK, although it's usual struggle and I have relatively small hands and am agile enough. Hidden screws are the bain of automotive repairs, I reckon.
So, I got it inside onto the breakfast bar, and started stripping it, following the instructions on YouTube from the place where I bought the seals kit.
A BIT suspicious when there was no solenoid and the fuel pressure sender was different, but hey-ho, the pump is a Bosch CP1, and the actual pump looked the same as the one in the video.
That was...until I got the first "cylinder head" off. Inside it bore little resembalance and NONE of the seals were where they ought to have been, nor even the same size
So...rebuilt it, and refitted it today. Not without some problems...engaging the dog onto the camshaft took nearly and hour, and ALMOST cost me the job Yes it does now go, LOL
But now what? Having spent best part of £90 on parts and cleaner, I have actually achieved zero. Just a cleaner engine cover and fuel pump
I'm now faced with either a generic copy of said pump, new at £450, or a refurbished one at £350, and b*ggering about trying to remove the old and refit the new again, not something I relish. My poor back is aching tonight from bending in the cold.
B*gger modern cars, B*gger diesels and B*gger Vauxhall.

If you know the part number, PF Jones may be worth a punt
