Brixham cafe bans under 12
Just seen this headline in my BBC news app, it's trending at number one spot.
Coffee shop owner defends no children policy - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-41100226
Can't decide on this one. Surely we have adult only hotels etc? Personally doesn't bother me at all. There will be other places to eat in Brixham. In the final analysis the market will decide, but as for people actively boycotting a local business and trying to put a bloke out of business I think that's short sighted. Mind you, I go out these days and see some parents (a minority generally) with kids in restaurants and wonder what on earth goes on at home as table manners are terrible and I'm talking about those kids who are old enough to know how to act. Just put the other night, 2 parents constantly on their phones with kids playing on iPad with the noise cranked up.

from someone who doesn't have children Im all for these places not taking kids if they feel that way and id happily pay extra for them as hardly anyone I see these days knows how to control there kids and with the no smacking laws how are they supposed to, so id rather have my own adult space where possible free from screaming kids and the children they bring with them

Love it.
Brat free zone means peace for non-breaders
The unfortunate consequence of a society that allows screaming kids hyped up on sugar to p*ss everyone else off whilst their parents are engrossed in their smartphone or just not bothered with a "that's what kids do" attitude.
*Understandably I am aware that not all children and parents are like this, but it's increasingly common and a place where this guaranteed not to happen is more than welcome; Don't like it, go to another cafe!
Just need children free air planes, restaurants etc.

When we book our hols abroad we always try and get adults only. Last year we succumbed and ended up in a nice 4star plus place. NEVER again, full of kids and adults behaving like kids!!!
I am a grandad, lovely to see the grandchildren but nice to hand them back

I hate going to places that have kids everywhere, especially restaurants and pubs...Daytime eating in a pub is a fkn nightmare..and as for these big chain turd fests like Frankie&Benny's..forget it.."congratulations..and jubila..." fekk off Cliff, I'm eating.

Costa and Starbucks are both like crèches almost every day now, full of badly behaved kids and parents who don't give a toss, "love me love my brats too"
And yes I do have 2 of my own - but they were always well behaved when out !,
