Default Iced windscreen

Went out to use the car this morning, and the windscreen was frozen solid. I lashed some warm water over it, but by the time I put the kettle back into the house and came back to the car it had frozen again. I thought I'd use a card from my wallet to scrape the ice off. I took out one of my discount cards to scrape the ice off, but it was hopeless, it only got 20% off.

If you know it's going to be cold keep half an old blanket or similar in the passenger foot well and spread it across the screen when you park it in the evening tucking the top corners into the doors as you close them and the bottom bit under the wipers to stop it blowing off.

May look silly but you'll feel smug in the morning when everyone else has freezing fingers struggling with their America Express cards when all they want to do is get in a nice warm car and trying not to be late for work.

I can trump an old blanket for smugness, my car is set to warm automatically by the time I leave for work, so there's never any scraping to be done and I don't need a hat or gloves. Oh and I can switch the heating on from my phone before I get in the car to leave work as well.

Did I mention I have an electric car?

The Scoob is parked in the garage so no scraping on that either, but I can't pre-warm it.

It always amazes me that people put their 4wd scoob in the garage for winter. The amount of times I have had to drive round luxory, exclusive 2wd cars stuck in winter is amazing.

Mine is parked in the garage all year round, not just for winter. If it's not your daily driver it makes sense to keep it out of the elements, is cheaper for insurance, and means it doesn't get in the way of your daily driver!

And if it does snow, then you can get in a 4WD car with clear windows, while leaving the 2WD shopping car sat on the drive...

I'm not sure if the joke has gone over some of their heads to be honest.

Never ever got stuck in snow in 25+ years of driving a 2wd, and the AWD does stay out the elements, as the amount of twa ts who cant drive any car and run into you in the snow just isnt worth the risk.

Just leave an old blanket on your windscreen and pull it off from of your car, in morning no frost and helps engine warm up.

I tink your prolly a nice chap two. Increddably fick, but jenerally harmless.

How's the Xsara been in the recent cold weather? Overtaken any more super cars? Lol.
