Well, if I had created the simulation - I would have left out the crackpots and conspiracy theorists.
That way, they would never have discovered they were part of a simulation.........

Have you ever stood and stared at it, marveled at it's beauty, it's genius? Billions of people just living out their lives, oblivious. Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world. Where none suffered. Where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed that we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. The perfect world would dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this, the peak of your civilization.

It's ALL about a ripping yarn, at the end of the day. Something sorely lacking in 90% of films.
For me, The Matrix restored much-needed renewed faith in 'The Hollywood Machine'. (But then came the inevitable 'milking' sequels - ho hum. )
Oh, and 'Spoonboy'. That was his actual end 'credit'!

Me too! - I wish I could re-create that moment......
I went to Cinema that evening completely oblivious to what the film was about - it just a film I'd heard people talking about and thought I'd better go and see it.....
I remember about 1/3rd of the way in actually laughing to myself thinking this is FREAKIN AWESOME!
As you say - it absolutely blew me away - couldn't have put it better myself
