Well that was lucky.... thank goodness we ignore Saudi's human rights record...
I don't know... all the complaints about the PM visiting Saudi to pay his respects to the late King, the flags being flown at half mast and the UK's relationship with a country that has a woeful human rights record etc. etc.
Well thank goodness we do indeed have a cordial relationship with them as today the PM revealed that a tip off from them potentially saved hundreds of UK lives.
Saudi Arabia tip-off saved UK lives, David Cameron says
That was lucky, thank goodness we have people like him to rise above public feeling and do what is right. His position on Saudi has today been validated. It's almost like it was heaven sent to show us all how wrong we were.

What piece of counter-terrorism intelligence he's on about? Do we know?
To be fair, any potential PM will have to wipe Saudi's boots for oil, whether they like it or not.
Boris may not, because he'd rather put everyone on a pushbike. Then we all will be seen throwing our weight around on some pushbike forum, not on a sports car form. Imagine that.

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".
That statement is never more true than when discussing the Saudis.

Well this thread is heading where I expected... just for a second there I thought we had a consensus.
In my opinion the PM is treating the whole electorate with disdain with stuff like this.
It's pretty clear his reaction to the Saudi death was broadly unwelcome across the whole political spectrum so instead of a) keeping quiet or b) telling people why he thought we were all wrong it appears (whether it's the truth or not) that he decides to try and justify it with the old 'foiled terrorist plot' ploy normally reserved for passing snooping laws or invading whichever country they feel needs a good kicking this week.
It's like when a kid does something wrong and tries, even after being told off, to justify why he did it by inventing some excuse.
It's frankly pathetic! I would say roll on the election, but that could bring us Miliband.... OMG it's a nightmare!!!
