Disability Scooters
These I assume are being handed out like statins, seems to always be people suffering from too much food and not enough exercise.
What's the deal, are they free?

It's not a nice thing to slag the people off that need mobility scooter. You never know when you may end up with disability and need one, then. There're people that have had very active lives, and they never thought they'd be so restricted in moving from a pillar to post. For those innocently disabled people, this aid is God-sent. They can have their independence and dignity with its help.
About fat and thus disabled, fair enough, obese people can make a serous effort to lose weight than wooshing around in this vehicle, but I'm not so sure that the majority of the mobility scooter users fall in that category. Disability can bring weight gain with it, as one is more inactive than ever due to the disability. So, just because you see an overweight person on one of them scooters, don't think they're simply some obese wasters.
Many former soldiers with disability have gained some movement back in their life with that scooter. The ex-soldier in the link below went on road on his scooter with his two cats>

How good is that.

A good 50 percent of the occupants iv seen almost consume the whole vehicle, with over hanging fat
I assume they are the ones that havnt managed thus far to convince their carers to fetch pizza since they can't make it off the sofa

I think I've seen one person around here that isn't in the chair because they're too fat or too lazy to walk. Ban them I say, exercise your arms in a manual one if you can't support your own weight.

I hate the fecking thing's
if the person is paralyzed/learning difficulties/genuinely needs it, I don't have a problem with them. but, it's the lazy, fat ******* that do my head in
there should be restrictions with them too -
if they are used on the road, they should be insured and have to do a basic 'driving' test. learn not to drive in the middle of the road on a NSL road at night without lights on
should have proper lights/indicators/number plate
shouldn't be allowed to use one while drunk
it's like with bicycles, they do whatever they want. one way street? no entry? bus lane? red traffic light?
