Click & Collect at Argos
I keep hearing about this Click & Collect at Argos from ebay purchases, i bought something from a seller and got it cheaper though Click & Collect at Argos
But once i read up on this it says
So the seller still has to post the item at same cost, so you have the choice of getting it delivered to your front door or to Argos
Have i missed something
But once i read up on this it says
Your normal carrier costs will still apply
Have i missed something
With Click & Collect you can now offer your customers a new delivery option to collect items from one of over 650 Argos stores.
Here's how it works:
Your items will be automatically updated to offer Click & Collect if they meet the criteria.
To be eligible for Click & Collect you'll need to list your items using a shipping service from one of 5 approved carriers: Royal Mail, DPD, UPS, Yodel, Parcel Force. If you don't use one of these carriers your listings won't be eligible for Click & Collect.
Click & Collect won't change how you ship your items. The buyer's address will be automatically updated with the shipping address of the store the buyer has selected. A unique identifying code will be added to the second line of the address; this will allow Argos to process the order.
When you print or write your label, make sure the unique identifying code and Argos store address are included.
There's no additional cost to you as a seller. Your normal carrier costs will still apply.

I think it's designed around not having to wait in all day to sign for a package as most sales use a signed for service. This way you can pick it up in your own time. I think its only available with listings offering free postage.

Is it more for the convenience of the buyer? If you're working 9-5pm then likely to miss home deliveries and the sorting offices don't tend to open long hours, Argos open late so you can pick up your parcel when it suits.

Basically the seller gets the order, and posts it to Argos for you, if you do not pick it up within 7 days it is then returned to the seller and you will be refunded.
Postage should be included in the price - i.e what you see is what you got
Is slowly rolling out on all of Ebay but approx only 5% of sellers have the option available to them.
Hope this helps

Bought a couple of bits from the Scan Computers outlet on eBay a while back. It was free to have the stuff delivered to my local Argos but cost extra to have delivered to home. Went for the Argos option as it's easy enough to drop in there on the way home from work.
Seems a bit odd that one option is free and one isn't though.
