Thumbs up Has to be Irish

http://www.independent.ie/irish-news...-30436569.html

Great Irishism

The Irish government has had a Ministerial shuffle and appointed a new guy to the Irish language portfolio.

Fine but one small problem - the guy doesn't speak Irish. But he's off to evening classes

Govt are reviewing their appointment of a pacifist as Minister for Defence

I still standby the fact that these additional "languages" are pointless.

OK, take Wales then.
What the % of the population that can read/write Welsh?
I'll bet on a quarter or less.

It's still the native language for Wales, Scotland, Ireland. I think it should be taught in schools before the likes of French or German TBH. I don't agree with teaching kids foreign languages before their own.
