Smile Charity event for midland

This is from on a lotus web site but everyone is welcome. The more money raised the better
The Great SELOC Charity Event
On the 31st of July 2004, SELOC, www.seloc.org, Europe’s largest on-line Lotus Enthusiast Club will be holding The Great
SELOC Charity Event on behalf of Tommy’s the Baby Charity, www.tommys.org, centred on the Bruntingthorpe Proving
Ground, www.bruntingthorpe.com, in the Midlands.
The events start with multiple car runs, of up to 2 hours driving, along designated routes starting from 5 locations around
the UK: Donington Motorsport Museum, Blenheim Palace, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Castle Combe Race track,
National Motorcycle Museum near the NEC.
All runs converge on Bruntingthorpe from mid morning, the finishing venue, where a range of events and activities will be
available for all to enjoy throughout the day.
Event Highlights
Main Circuit: Track day from 9.30am to 5.30pm, passengers rides
available in a range of sports cars
Driver Handling Course: A mini-sprint course laid out to test both the driver and car
Auto Finesse: A tight course designed to test your driving accuracy
Off-road Circuit: Passenger and driving experience in 4x4 vehicles
Trade stands: From both automotive and general companies,
across a range of products and services
Manufacturers: Cars from ADR Racing, Lotus, Noble and Vauxhall VXR, static and on track
Concours Show: A display of Lotus models from the original Lotus 7 to the Exige S2
Classic Lotus Race Cars: Lotus types 58 and18FJ demonstrating on track
Supercars: Including the unique Elise GT1 and Esprit Sport 350
Entertainment: Human Table Football Tournament, Sumo Wrestling,
Bungee Running, Tug of War and more
Guinness World Record: Attempt: on the largest ever parade of Lotus cars
Sponsored bike ride: Commences from Brunty to begin the ride to Rotterdam at the close of the day
The Charity
Tommy’s, the baby charity was set up in 1992 and through a national programme of research aims to end the heartache
caused by premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage. It also provides information on healthy pregnancy to parents
and health professionals.

Fund Raising
Funds for Tommy’s are raised via an entry fee of £20 per car (non-Lotus sports cars welcomed) from those
participating in the runs, or £25 per car on the gate, and from the on-line auction that takes place on the SELOC site
running up to the event. Those doing runs will also be raising funds through sponsorship, entry fee refunded if £70 or
more raised and collected
