Default Welding

Can anyone here weld or does anyone have access to a mig welder. I've not done any welding myself for about 10 years, but I want to plate up some bits on the car to do some smoothing before the respray.

More than happy to pay but I'd rather my hard-earned goes to someone in the club rather than just a random trader

Cheers guys, I'm just trying to get it done cheap and local as it is 2 small plates that I need welding in. The gear seems to be the issue - if I could get some I'd even have a crack myself

HSS want £23 per day plus VAT, add to that the rods, gas etc it'll be just as cheap to pay a garage

Mikee, got your PM - I thought that was the case, but I'd rather someone volunteered because I wouldn't be imposing on them

"HIM...who stalks at night with his flashgun & Lens, HIM who is the master of all arts & fails at none, HIM who appears on here only as an apparition to those whose posts are worthy, HIM who has previously appeared on The Waltons & is known as Jimbob"?
Is that the one??

I think I may have been reading a bit too much of Lord of the Rings this week!!

Sorry mate, typo, more than happy - edited to correct it. Just refitted the exhaust and it fitted like a glove

Here's the work

As agreed Stu stitched in all the plates and I am going to fettle and smooth, although he did finish the exhaust off a treat

Bit of a slog, but filled with fibre glass, then filler and some chemical metal in lieu of a stopper and here be the finished result

No holes mate, just easier to sand the sticky stuff off as it was getting pained anyway - I remember the pain trying to remove the glue without damaging the paint when I took the S U B A R U badge off

Just time consuming, and you end up rubbing your finger raw as you try and clean the glue off. Hair dryer and some dental floss in behind works a treat

Thanks for the tip mate.

I used to use lighter fuel to get the glue off of previously de-badges cars what did you use?
