Default FMIC pipework and breathers (pics please)

Afternoon gents,

My car is away having my fmic and some other bits fitted and my mate who's doing the work thinks he might need to change the breather system.
Could you post up pics of what you have done with your fmic pipework and breathers?

Many thanks

Kev

When you say breathers, are you talking about the vacuum pipes that cross the top mount intercooler?

Apparently it's an engine breather and a breather pipe from the turbo inlet

With nearly all FMIC kits they need a bit of adapting. There are sometimes additional couplers and throttle body reducer pipes you require.

If you search for a fitting guide you'll see loads of pics on that. Here are some of my dads which was quite badly fitted by a garage.

You might want to buy a standard samco reducer throttle body pipe and also the "Extreme" version. The reason being it makes quite a bit of difference to how the pipe lies.

Thanks for that, i think the problem is a couple of breather hoses though, not the throttle body hose

I think you mean the breathers/pipes I mentioned in my first post.

See the picture in post #2 in this link, look at the bottom left corner of the intercooler, there is a T piece that then runs over the inlet past the recirc valve and reconnects back to standard pipe work just by the bottom right corner of the intercooler.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1931407

This replaces the stock hard pipe that normally attaches to the standard top mount intercooler.

This is how I've just set mine up after removing the hard pipe, can't seem to add pictures to my photobucket account from my ipad so can't post my own pictures, the attached picture shows exactly as I've done it only the pictured car is still running top mount and is a USDM car.

Is this the breather you mean?

No problems, if it is the same I was told to try keep the internal size of replacement parts as close to the size of the standard removed part.

I used some samco classic black water pipe as a replacement pipe, it seems stiff enough to cope with any vacuum if there is any and relatively cheap.

thanks for the pics people ,its on a blob eye , and the sort of problem is the engine breather t piece pipe that then goes to the hard plastic intake pipe ( i have put a aftermarket silicone pipe in ) and the hose diameters are quite a different size , so i was thinking a nice breather catch tank mounted on bulkhead or where else space is available !!!
by the way prodriverules that is one nice breather set up you have

Cheers Biscuittun
My intercooler pipe work wouldn't apply here as I'm on a rotated inlet and custom fmic within engine bay

There's a Rally Tech GB on at the moment - I'm not sure if it's in the list of bits available but worth a PM to Ironbridge if not to see what price he can do on it
