hey all, ive been a regular over on scoobyireland and thought id sign up here too.
A little bit about me, im from belfast, im 20 and work as a mechanic. I have been obsessed to say the least with cars since i was 13 when i started short oval racing. My attention then turned to building and restoring cars.
After a few project builds I bought this impreza in dec 2010 while working at a local rally preparation business, I noticed this car sitting as an unfinished project with the chance to be a great car. After finding out that the owner wanted to sell, I jumped at the chance to buy it. Once the car was in my possession I started to strip it down to a bare shell again for a rebuild as it had been sitting for a while. The car already had the S6 WRC body work and 22B engine so it already had great potential. Once stripped it went to the body shop for a tidy up and a coat of genuine WRC blue, which is slightly different to wr blue. Then came the time to build it back up using carefully selected upgrades. If the part wasn’t replaced it was refurbished. I didn’t want to rebuild the engine as it only had 5000 miles on it and keeping in mind that the car still had a 5 speed gearbox I couldn’t go to mad on power figures. I started purchasing parts such as air filter kit, exhaust and front mount intercooler to make the most from the engine. As the 22B ecu wasn’t re-mappable I then got the help of Simon JGM Roe who fitted and mapped a syvecs s6. Now the engine was running nicely it was time to upgrade the suspension. I fitted bc inverted coilovers, a super pro poly bush kit and a geometry setup for fast road/track. This made the car handle beautifully and gave you confidence to push harder. While the suspension arms were out for re bushing I rubbed them all down and gave them a coat of paint which really freshened the underside of the car. Then came the usual story, I had gotten used to the cars power and it no longer felt quick. After another chat with Simon Roe about how much a standard 22B engine could safely handle it was time to buy more parts. I wanted to run a parallel fuel set-up both for looks and function, so Carl Davey rails were purchased. Then more fuel and air was needed which Lateral performance helped with by flowing a set of injectors and Scooby clinic helped by supplying a sc38 billet turbo. After all was fitted it came JGM’s turn again to map and now I am at a power level that pleases me again. Now there is around 380bhp which has no lag and with a 4.44 final drive it just attacks 1st to 4th gears with out a moment to take your hand of the gear leaver. With the idea of doing a few trackdays and sprints whiteline anti-roll bars were bought to help minimise the body roll. Now the car corners like a go kart, so flat and responsive. So that is how the car sits today, a quick responsive good handling car which brings the presence of wrc to the road.
Exterior – S6 WRC arches, S6 WRC bumpers, S6 WRC spoiler, S6 WRC bonnet vents, painted in genuine WRC blue, crystal light pack with chrome indicator blubs,
Interior – 22B dash, V3 wrc seats, syvecs cal switch, sparco mats, isotta seering wheel, isotta gearknob
Suspension and Chassis – BC RM series (inverted) coilovers, full superpro polybush kit, whiteline anti-roll bars, whiteline anti-roll bar mounts, whiteline drop links
Wheels and Tyres – custom made 18” speedline rims to fill the wide arches with toyo T1R tyres
Engine and Drivetrain – EJ22 22B engine and 22B DCCD gearbox and diff with 5k mileage, stainless headers and up pipe heat wrapped, light weight billet flywheel, exedy pink box clutch, full Hayward & Scott 3” decat system, cosworth timing belt, rcm billet timing belt guide, hybrid gt2 front mount intercooler, k&n 260mm cone, rcm trumpet, walbro 255 fuel pump, syvecs s6 pnp with anti lag mapped by JGM, ntk wideband, carl davey billet fuel rails, lateral 1000cc flowed ph2 injectors, fuel lab mini regulator, -6 goodridge hose and fittings, Scooby clinic SC38 billet turbo, sti billet magnesium oil cap, turbosmart vee port dumpvalve,

IMO Never give up what you do.
that is a remarkable piece of work you have done there,
cars like this make me want to go back to a classic, i'd give up my blob for a car like this.

Awesome car!!
But are you sure that's S6 panels, looks like S5 to me... and i also think that the S6 front wings demands much more caster-angle so the wheels would sit to much back on a roadcars suspensionsetup. 
So jealous
