Default Finally got around to fitting the 2 pots to my Classic

After some time i decided to fit the 2 pots to the rear, having 4 pots up front made for some scary braking moments with the original 1 pot sliding calipers at the back !

so,after buying the discs and fitting kit from Ian at Godspeed, thanks for the good price and sourcing the pots on ebay,i fitted them today and bled them up

After clearing a blocked bleed nipple, they bled fine.

some pics

Cheers guys, but it hasnt Gone all good once driving the car sob sob

From the rear of the car, i now get extensive Howling when braking at low speeds/to a stop etc and even sometimes, after the brakes have been used a while round town even get howling while driving at low speed, over bumpd.
Suspect the 2nd hand pads i used on the 2 pots (yeah,i know, but they had as new meat left on them) are duff or contaminated etc

I have ordered a front and rear set of kevlar pads so should fit those monday

Hate driving the car at present, just hope it is the pads and not something else, cant see it tho,the 2 pot upgrade is the only thing to change since i laid it up at xmas

wish me luck

Check you haven't got the handbrake shoes too tight , drive so it starts making the noise and put the handbrake on gently , then apply the footbrake , if the noise changes with either , then you know where to look
Cheers Ian

Cheers,i did try that,hoping/praying it was the handbrake but nope,it isnt,i even slackened off the shoes via the ratchet bit at the back of the backplate, still does it.

The noise 1st started when applying the brakes,at low speed, just as you come to a stop you get this intenxe howl, foot off the pedal stopped the noise.

i copper greased everything up after this (i dodnt to start with) and also used to sand paper to rub down the surface of the old pad,now its worse LOL,does it at low driving speed too, omly when hot tho,in the cold evenings it doesnt, during the day when warmer/brakes used more etc
