Cool My WRX made it to the Swiss Alps!

A second visit to the Swiss Alps for my MY93 WRX.
This time we had a few days of perfect weather and, since it was still mid-June, there was still plenty of snow on the mountain tops!

This picture was taken at the top of the Nufenen Pass, at 2478m above sea level.

Thanks for the comments

Apart from the ferrys, there wasn't too much pre-planning to the holiday. We headed down to Switzerland a couple of days after Le Mans - took it quite steady, taking in some N-roads a bit of peage and an overnight stop at a campsite near Dijon. We entered Switzerland via Chamonix (passing Mount Blanc) and spent two days camping near Sierre, followed by another few days in Ulrichen.
We then had a few days in northern Switzerland with some of Rachael's relatives, before taking a similarly steady 2-day, N-road treck back towards Le Havre.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all driving - will have to spend longer there next time!

A few more pics....

This was the view from the top of the Nufenen Pass:

The drive down from here was the only one where I experienced a bit of brake fade. There's about 8 hairpins separated by decent length straights and, despite quite a lot of engine braking, slowing down from 60+ to 25-ish in rapid succession took it's toll!!

Part-way up the Furkapass:

The weather wasn't great all the time:

It was actually snowing at the top of the Sustenpass!

Hopefully we'll be back sometime soon!

I go snowboarding every year and seriously want to take a road trip to the alps in my scoob, I'd love a pic of my car with the mountain backdrop whilst I do a trick on my board

I should probably grow up...

Excellent pic mate

A few of us went last year, 3 Scoobs, an Elise and a 335d.

Holiday of a lifetime, and a must do for anyone. Going again in September, in a Smart Roadster.

Just a couple of mine...

Believe it or not but...... im pretty sure I saw you go past on a Saturday or Sunday, heading from Geneva towards Chamonix.
I was parked up at the services at Bonneville (not the Shell one) and saw a silver UK registered classic go past

I'm hoping to drive to Dahn (south germany) and Stuhlfelden 3 weeks earlier if I can afford it. Already decided it will be the scenic route

Sadly, that probably wasn't us! We travelled that way on Wednesday 17th June. We did see quite a number of Swiss Scoobs in the Sierre / Brigg area, but very few British cars of any description.....

Sticky, I recognise St Gotthard Pass in there though not sure about the others.
