Thumbs up Blitz Nur Spec S...oh yes!

A big box came from Scoobyworld yesterday for my MY05 Blobeye A new Blitz Nur Spec S Back box, I um'd and ah'd about the Spec R one but considering the original centre section is in good nick and I didnt want to be droned to death on the motorway. I figured the Spec R would be quite a bit louder as it has a much smaller Resonator on the centre section pipe.

So I got the Spec S after countless good opinions of the Blitz Nur series exhausts on the forum, didnt take long to fit at all, once the 'nicely seized' bolts holding the original Prodrive one in place were removed, a new gasket in between and the Blitz was ready to let the burbling commence. Fits perfectly into the bumper recess too! Incidently, did anyone start their Scoob up when the back box was off? My god, its loud!!!

Over the moon with the result, proper burble soundtrack now! Just to point out, the back box comes with a new gasket and new bolts in the box so if you get one, dont go getting these bits elsewhere.

Lastly, if anyone is after a Newage Prodrive back box in good condition (no dents or anything) and only 30,000 miles run through it.....I've got one! Will post it up in the Sales section very soon or PM me!

Heres a clip for ya all...

Note - seems a bit laggy, may have to wait for the clip to load a little before playing.

Cheers!

I do like the look of these Blitz exhausts, wonder if they are any louder than a H&S?

oh and whats the difference between the Spec-S and Spec-R?

The Spec-R is 3" from the cat back and has a centre resonator, a bung and a few more dB

The Spec-S is a back box only.

Compared to a H&S system on a hawk Spec-C, fully decatted, the Spec-R is probably more consistently loud, in that the H7S is quieter on a cruise. They are different sounds because of the equal headers on the spec-c, the older cars the burble, but noise wise it is very close

I see, but you must be able to get just the back back in Spec-R form surely?
so if your using 2.5" system you'll need to get the Spec-S back box?

The R is the system and the S is the back box. You don't need the bung for the S as you still have a centrer section in theory so it won't be as loud. I've never seen the Spec-R back box available seperately

Thats what the 'S' is, NurSpec Back box with 3" bore connecting at 2.5" to the centre rather than at the cat.

The only real difference is that the Spec-R has a 3" flange for a 3" centre pipe:Thumb:

I would love to know how loud mine is as I run an 'S' from a Straight through 2.5 centre.

I'll try and get a sound clip up today.

From what I've read the Spec S is the back box only with 3" piping that reduces to a 2.5" flange to connect to the stock centre section pipe. The Spec R is the back box and centre section pipe together and for some reason the Spec R back box is not available seperatly. I think this is because the piping from the rear of the Spec R box is a different design / angle to marry up with the Spec R centre section, only the Spec S is fits the stock centre pipe. I think.

As for the Spec R centre section reducing to a 2.5" to meet up with the cat, Im not sure if the stock cat's have 3" or 2.5" flanges. Ive seen a photo of the Spec R and it did have a reducing flange that joined to the cat.

I reckon the actual back boxes / silencers on the Spec R and S are the same.
