Default New wheels

Hey people.
Have just had new wheels put onto the spec c.

What you think? Sorry for bad pics but only had my phone with me at the time.

GTR's 18x8

Grid Drifts 18x8.5

Which is your favorite?

Close one but I fancy the Grid Drifts (wider) and they are a bit different. Both look cool though

Did you need any arch work done to accommodate the 8.5 wheels? Thinking of getting some myself. Whats your stud pattern, 114??

Also what tyre size are you running on the Grids?

Yes was wondering the same about tyre size too buddy? Had my arches done, but still think thos 8.5 would rub with any sorta weight in the back

Prefer the pattern of the GTR's, but am loving the way the Drift's fill the arches!
Cheers
Chris

Stud pattern is 5x100 for blob eyes.
Those nice people in japan have rolled the arches for me already so not sure if it would cause any problems if they weren't rolled etc.
Tires are 235 40 18
I havnt had any problems with rubbing at all and she is lowered on coilovers so the arch is just over the tire. I have a track day next week so will advise if I get any scrub from them although these are my road wheels I'll experiment for a session to confirm.
I like the way the grids fill the rchs more than the gtr's but it doesn't really show in the pics.

I was considering both of these! Drifts for me, waiting for them to be shipped in bronze.

Both need to be wider with a more aggressive offset to work properly.
Style wise i loke both, but heres how you want them to look.

Quote from 07wrxtr
18x9.5 Rota Grids 38 offset
perfect camber, no negative camber to fit
rolled rear fenders
stock stuts w/Megan springs(2.5 drop) and Whiteline sways
235/40/18 General Exclaim UHP
no rubbing at all and can turn lock to lock with no problems

As for teh GTRs, theyre called P45Fs in the US and run a flt face, the P45R run a concave face and look alot more agressive.

I vote for the grids with aggressive offset

thats sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxy. my kind of style. watch this space for my new look
obviously on a 9.5j wheel the 235 tyre is a slight stretch.....would it be ok to do that with a Toyo R888?

Oh I am liking the fat 9.5" width.
Maybe I will sell mine on and get some of these. Oh mr wheel man is going to love me.

Not sure how the R888 would stretch. dont they have a much stiffer side wall? Guess your tire suppliers should be able to advise.
