Default New Lights! Correct thread!

Was having troulbe with my last thread.

Bought my mates crystal HID`s and side lights off him as he`s selling his Type R. Anyone interested I can point you towards the link. At first the side lights were still giving a yellow candle type effect but thats all rid of now thanks to some nice LED`s Camera isnt the best so apologies in advance. Have to say if you havn`t got HID`s, go and get a hold of some because they make a massive difference. Dont even need to use my spot lamps now, but they`ve stopped working anyway since I fitted these lights. Havn`t had the chance to pin point why as of yet

Thank you for the comments guys.

Yes I have considered that they might be a bit annoying to other drivers, but they arent actually as bright as they look in the pictures. If someones gets annoyed Ill have to take the brunt of it unfortunatly but thats my thing to deal with. But thank you for making me aware

I have the "old man with a match" side lights (see my pic) - what can be done to improve them without causing issues?

They look real nice but the glare will be a bit extreme as it'll be all over the place. I really want HID's but the projector headlights look a bit naff in my opinion so i don't blame you for sticking these in as i've found standard bulbs are terrible for visibility on the classics! Just be careful when it comes to MOT time

Personally i'd invest in some 'PIAA white/white' LED's if i were you (been meaning to buy a set myself), they're great and pure white, none of this horrible yellowness!

It might sound silly but those blue sidelight bulbs that halfords sell, the really blue looking ones, they shine nice and white! I don't know why, but they do. Or go down to your local Merc garage and tell them that you need a sidelight bulb for the new E class. Again they'll give (yes give, free) you blue bulbs but they glow white. My mate has a CL500 and he came back from a Merc garage telling me about the free things they give away.

Spyd, thank you mate. Hopefully I`ll be ok at MOT time, its up in November so fingers crossed. I did have a good look from the front and they really don`t seem that bad. From the drivers side they are a bit "off" angle so might need a bit of adjusting. Seriously though, the original lights were cr*p.

Ryo, Iv fitted LED side lights on mine as I was having the same problem with the candle light effect. Spoke to someone at HIDS4U and the chap on there pointed me in the direction of autobulbsdirect which is where I ordered mine from. Direct fit, no issues

Steve, not too sure about the Halfords lights as my mates work there and the lights they do arent realy up to the job from what they have told me. But the Merc idea is a good one

Decent HIDs work well in the classic headlights.

The best available upgrade within the standard headlamp units, without any issues of glare and pass MOTs everytime.

Im guessing you mean the splitter? If so, its part of a 3 piece set and from what I know its an STi type splitter. Can be ordered from Scoobyworld etc. Not sure about the price however, but im sure you can get hold of a replica.
