My Engine Bay Clean Up.
Well it looks like we are all cleaning up under the bonnet at the moment
This was a while back....

Then I went for the Sti washer bottle plus I cleaned the engine...

Then started to change a few bolts

I had a few bits fitted ready for a JGM re-map
Samco's
Ported headers and up pipe
pulleys
Vf28

Made some space...

Stripped out...

Then it was put back together

Then back went on some parts I painted...

Getting cleaner...

Look at the state of these brackets...

Paint them up...

And these...

Getting there...

It took a while but I got there in the end

Weeks of scratching around under there had it's side effects

Finshed off under the other end for a change

Many thanks to JollyGreenMonster for a fantastic re-map and to Andy at Ace Motorsport for fitting the parts.... and thanks to the different people that I had advise from you know who you are
Next will be an up to date shoot of the car

Frayz cheers pal
Thanks Richy.... I'm hoping that someone posts some japfest pics up of it as I spotted quite a few taking pictures yesterday... good to see other peoples perspectives.
Scott sent you a pm but I forgot to add the cleaning material...
I used THIS on the engine bay and engine it's fantastic stuff also used it under the wheel arches. To clean alloy a little more to get some shine you need to brush it so I had a couple of stainless steel brushes a little larger than tooth brushes so it's a case of cleaning away.... info on that site about those as well I think.
Cheers guys pleased to see everyone likes it.... the last few weeks I have overdosed on it here and it's done my head TBH but I got there in the end
Well done Si, the work you have put into this car is a credit to you
good to see you go through the pain barrier a few times and still come out smiling.
A bit of sun out yesterday and the paint work would have blown them away
Number plate, cough ,cough

As you know the engine bay is not my comfort zone at all it never has been so working on it was new ground here for sure.... yes the plate was funny got a few people confuddled yesterday when they were looking for the car

The blame lies on Frayz and Glen combined they will be getting billed
Your lucky I did not get the next consecutive number to yours

you complete bling ***** si
Always trying to compete with me and do one better
Loving the paint finish on those individual parts, works very well in deed.
As always, you take 'fettling and faffing' to another level

I need a break now.... I've overdosed on it lately let me tell you

The difference being on the Sti there are no bumper washers jets like on the uk so the standard bottle has 2 motors on it where the Sti only has one making the bottle a different shape. In the future when I get a re-spray on the front bumper I'll be removing it for that job and the jets will be coming off and the holes filled

It's a hell of a lot smaller in shape and really free's some space up....The difference being on the Sti there are no bumper washers jets like on the uk so the standard bottle has 2 motors on it where the Sti only has one making the bottle a different shape. can I ask how much you paid for it?

also noticed you have replaced alot of the old bolts and washers with new ones ... is there a set of some sort , or is it the case of taking each one to the motor shop and match up with new ones
cheers phil

PM coming back your way Phil
I got the bolts of fleabay.... mostly M6 and M8 st/steel allen cap heads, I simply removed one at a time to check the length and cut them down to suit.

I would had got a couple of small blue circular decals made up but the would end up looking a bit daft 3 inches in diameter here
