Ahh. Darc you have reminded me where those pipes came from; they are only used on the version 4 cars. I complained to bailey Motorsport because the kit is advertised as v4-6 and I was paying for two extra hoses I couldn't use. It took twelve months but I eventually got a refund...can't remember how much for but it wasn't much
It's a lot of work when you get into it.... you don't think it's going to be but things develop
To degrease the engine bay I used P21S Total Auto Wash - P21S Car Care and Detailing Products I only did small areas at a time as I had never got a hose pipe out under the bonnet before, then I used 303 Aerospace Protectant - 303 Car Care and Detailing Products to treat is afterwards. The main things though were small wire brushes similar to a toothbrush to clean over all the areas I could get to when the degreaser was on that made a big difference.
As said a lot of the brackets have been removed and re-painted plus I sorted a lot of the loose wires etc.

No probs... that's the 2 products I used but much are the same, it's all natural degreasers these days opposed to the acids from a few years back so just go carefull on what you do get if you choose any others.
I dropped some cellophane over the electrics, I then wrapped tin foil on top as well to hold it secure then after you have degreased gently drizzle the hose over, many have just got a pressure washer on and gone for it but I was a little nervous to attack it like that.

Keep yer 'at on mate, or people'll be talking about you.
NOW all you need is an intercooler that some numpty hasn't jet washed through the scoop hole and bent all the rear half fins over. Surely you didn't do that Simon ??

And Frayz........ I'm only following where you have already been to
From what I have heard your the one that should be giving me the tips

For the paintwork Pete I sprayed the P21S on and let it sit for 5-10 mins then I used a paint brush and gave it a good brush in, I then used a gun sprinkler attachement and lightly hosed off... any stubbon grime I gave it a little more P21S and did the same again, it's a citric based cleaner and really moves the grease and grime. After that get an old t-shirt in there to dry it off and then wax the clean paintwork. If you remove the battery and plastic tray you can get in there easy enough.... basically just jam your hands in where they will fit, and expect some skin loss
I have to add that you can use any cleaning products available they should all get similar results.... these are the one's I use these days.

I will second that, the above products will give good results
I know we all give each other stick over cleaning but when you spend a lot on the car it's mad not to give it some time as well... nothing worse than seeing a fortune spent but to have it surrounded with muck and grime as that brings rust on quickly.
Looking good Si
The RCM pulleys look very nice, be sure to look after them as they have won many many awards
Let me know when the cars back and i'll pop round for a peep, a cup of tea and a welsh cake

Nice looking bay
Couple of things....don't buy bolts of ebay, look up someone local, for instance there's a place in Cwmbran here in South Wales where you can buy stainless bolts in a pic n mix fashion....for pennies!!!
How about attacking the alternator, it responds well to a light buzz over with a dremel and brass wire brush attatchment
Looks pretty grubby..

covered the surrounding area up and filled the holes in the alternator with sponge to prevent bit's getting in there..

Then attacked it very lightly with a dremel with wire brush attatchment and some Solvo metal polish

More pictures in the next month of so as I still have a few bits to finish off under there, alternator certainly comes up well like that to.
No aircon here... nice gap there for me, and yes I'm attempting to keep away from shiney, I can't rule out a couple of bits sneaking in more for contrast but in the main it will be kept to very little.
