Default Castlecoombe...my first ever track day

Well had to do it at some point so met up with the Plymouth lot and had an absolute blast
Early start but what a cracking day. Luckily changed the backbox the night before to get below the noise test and passed (thank you mr Palmer )
Then a quick whizz around with the instructors in their WRX and then onto the track for my first go. Absolutely papping myself
But really enjoyed it and even though I was getting passed by the world and his wife, it was fun and got better as the day progressed.

Just before lunch we had to stop and the circuit was closed as some guy in his £50k Porsche totalled it into folly corner and ended up back on the track sans his 2 front wheels
A right mess (wont post any pics because it was too sad to see the car lying there.suffice to say they were both ok, just dented pride me thinks)

Early lunch and then back out again for some more of the same.

Top day, great people, fantastic atmosphere, lovely weather and the sound of roaring engines and screeching tyres (well maybe just mine )
What a combination

(only downside was the fact that my tyres have now completely new threads and patterns that the manufacturers did not intend but what the heck its only rubber !! )

Some pictures to show how much fun I was having

Jim
was going to PM you to say Thanks so much

I really enjoyed myself as you could see and I was grateful for all your advice. I have some other pictures and a small video of you blatting around camp and then down the straight if you want it.

Obviously you made it home in one piece. I made my way slowly back listening out for all the new sounds my car is making I think the car was enjoying going slowly for a change though the new treads i have on my tyres are an odd sight !!

Hope tracey was ok after our excursion, she seemed to shoot off to the toilet rather quick (and I never got her number.damm getting slow in my old age !!! )

If you look closely at the last picture of me and jonesy you will see that he is looking so bored that he has his eyes shut

heres to next season.......

See I knew it, the day I venture into wales you bugger off up north

(worried are you??)

Actully going to meet the guy half way as my passport is expired (no severn bridge for me boyo ) and swap the seats over. But at blinking 7 a.m !!
anyway should give me time to get back and get the sti lights in.

You seem to be making a weekend of it. I take it you are coming up in the red blobeye ?
I am coming up in convoy ( 10/4 Big Bear, theres a smokey on your tail )
with V5 man and rest of crew.
Are you going to be on a stand or just milling around somewhere advising people on how to spend their money ???
