Talking First pics of my new MY00 Classic Turbo

Hi Gang,
I have picked my new car up this morning and thought I would just take a couple of quick pictures of it,
MY00 UK Turbo

The first job will be to de-tango and paint those wedges !
I had intended on putting my 17" WRX alloys on but after seeing these 16" cleaned up I quite like them, I think I'll live with them for a while and see how they feel.
One question to the peeps that have put 17" on is how different do they feel on ride and handling ?????

I'm looking at a front splitter but as yet don't have a specific one in mind, then I think I'll get the side skirts colour coded.
I don't travel far for work so I am considering fitting a Knocklink since the engine will not always be right up to temp, also a boost gauge to just keep an eye on things.

Cheers
Simon

Nice. I've always thought those are some of the best standard wheels Subaru have produced.

i changed my 15" rims 2, 17" rims within 2 weeks of get the car, so i dont know the difference between standard rims or bigger, but my ride is great, handles well, looks great, plus ive got low profiles aswell.

Thanks Guys

I read on here last week someone commenting that if anyone was thinking of change now was the time to buy a late classic because in a couple of years time they will be that much older and it would be a shame to miss out on such a great car when it was still reasonably new.
I remembered that comment today as I was driving home and thought how very true it was

Come on then RON lets see a pic of yours now !!

I'll do a few more pictures after I get a few coats of Swissol on and got rid of those nasty orange parts

Does this now mean I need to change my user name ????????? lol

Cheers

Wow nice leather interior
I thought your user name rang a bell I read your thread about this a few days back.... nice to know that your work can come home with you and for a very positive reason !!
What you should consider is buying an old Turbo interior and covering it, then sell it on with a deal on the seats that are taken out you could do quite a few.

Car looks great too and I do like that small lip spoiler, something a little different.

Thanks
Simon

I like it, the wheels are changing next, to a kinda anthracite-ish colour, the trouble with doing the interiors would be that people wouldn't be willing to pay, it would be at least £1400 to do, who would pay that??

Nice looking car Simon....looks like a totally std unmolested example but that obviously won't last long . I must admit, I really like those alloys. They are much better than the std 15's that I had on mine for approx 8 month after buying it. After swapping to 17's, some of the comfort has gone but the steering is now razor sharp.

A de-tango is a must, along with painting the wedges a darker colour. I also fitted a STi6 front lip spoiler (available from the dealer - I'll post part no's if required) but left it unpainted to match the original skirts. I don't think it looks too bad as it breaks up the colour a little.

Pics:

Std 15's looking very sorry for themselves

Thanks Guys,

Simon.... wagon indeed lol I know I need to look into a BB as I got the standard pea shooters on there at the moment. I have a Vortex off my Bugeye Sport which can be converted to fit, but I want to find something thats not so loud !!
So for the time being it's pea shooter's for me !!
I am waiting on a reply on one guy that may want the Vortex and if he don't want it I will get it converted for a Turbo and it will be for sale soon

Phil.... I see what you mean about the 15" !!
I think I'll leave these on for a while and get used to the feel then when I change over I will be able to really tell the difference, plus my 17" need a really good clean.
I do like that lip spoiler you got on there very nice... I want to put one on it's just deciding which is the best, I did not realise that the dealer still carried parts for the classic like this, very useful to know... if you have the part number that would be very helpfull.
That scoop should have a health warning on it !!!!!!
Very aggresive looking !

Cheers

Current prices and part numbers direct from Subaru UK:

57796FA530NN - Spoiler - 1 @ £157.69
57728AC090 - Bumper Clip - 2 @ £0.69
57798FA100 - Protector - 1 @ £20.42
57728FA080 - Screw Grommet - 9 @ £0.43
904560009 - Screw - 9 @ £0.16

Total = £184.80 ex VAT / £217.14 inc VAT

That is everything needed to fit the spoiler....not exactly cheap but it is a quality item and fits with no modifications. Anybody can fit it....attach protector to lip spoiler. Insert 9x grommets into the square holes on bottom of bumper. Attach spioler to inner wing part of bumper by a bumper clip at each end. Pull spoiler from front towards you and push upwards. It should then clip into some guides on the bumper. Then screw the screws into the grommets. 20 mins max .
