If you have, you will already know how amazing the roads and scenary is out there. Thought i'd give you an idea of the type of roads etc... might even make you want to go there? Perfect scoob country!!!! Beer in some places is £6 per pint i didn't think it was possible, but there actualy are more expensive places to live other than the UK. Almost everything is double the price of goods in the UK. The fuel is around the same price and much better. Shell V Power as im sure you know is the equivalent of our Optimax.
I spent 5 days there, drove from Stavanger to Oslo around the cost road, then back along the country way. 1200 miles of
Another thing to remember, if you go there and expect to do a certain distance in the same time you can in the UK... forget it, no motorways as such and the A roads are in some places just like the twisties in Derbyshire, that combined with a speed limit of 50 kmph in most places... it takes a long long time to reach your destination!!! My advice is forget the main costal roads, the scenary is mainly the same and there are too many speed cameras... get out on the other roads and you hardly ever see another car, there are fuel stations everywhere and they all sell 98 RON fuel

Correct, Newcastle to one of 3 ports, all within 90 minutes or so drive from each other... have a look here for pricing www.fjordline.com It varies depending on the time of year. the crossing takes 17 hours. So cabins are compulsary. The entertainment leaves a lot to be desired, unless u like cheesy cabaret type shows . Oh, and make sure u take travel sickness tablets
cheers

Hi, Im from Haugesund, Norway.A city between Bergen and Stavanger.I am currently living way up north on Spitsbergen (www.svalbard.com) and drive south every summer from Tromsø.We usually drive throught Sweden because the roads in Norway stinks (speed cameras, toll roads, road standards etc).
There are many scooby roads here tho and Trollstigen is one of them
Was wondering of taking a trip to UK next summer and wondered how it is driving a LHD on RHD roads.Guess i have to change the way of thinkin
Are there any calendars etc where i can check out scooby meetings?

Viking067, there are lots of meets around the country, it all depends on where you come into the country. Where were you thinking about?
The meets section is on the forum page at the bottom under 'Events'
Driving a LHD on the left can be interesting

It's a fantastic place, know what you mean about the distances CEL, when we arrived off the ferry, took us 6 hours to drive to our Fjord side cottage, looked like a one hour drive on the map! its a place I would fancy buying a holiday home - if that ferry journey was not so damm long!

I lived there for 3 years..... in a town called Leirvik on the island of Stord, and then moved to a place called Fyllingsdallen about 15 minutes south of Bergen. (just the other side of the tunnel if anyone knows it)
Bit too young (7-10) to appreciate the roads, but Dad was always having fun in his Yellow Chevette with spiked tyres and 'pig decks' (spiked chains)
I had more fun skiing to school (on Stord) and sledding. Would love to take the family and Scoob there one day.
J.
PS. Mum and Dad were always moaning about the cost of drinks and the fact you could not get fireworks!
