Was so impressed when I cleaned the engine bay of my Scoob, I cleaned the Wifes Focus as well. All for the grand sum of £7.50. Bought a kit from the "H" shop called CD-2. It contained cans of degreaser and engine detailer.

Heres the before....

and After.....

goonasuk,
It took about 40 mins, warm the engine, spray the engine with degreaser, leave for 10mins. Hose off the engine bay. Start the engine and leave ticking over for about 15/20 to dry. Mop any excess up with a towel. Then spray on the detailer. Leave to dry. Then bingo job done. I managed to do the Scoob and focus with one kit.

Dickie, did you use a power washer to hose the bay off?

I used this on my M3, with pretty good results. It helps if you work in the degreaser in the worst areas with a paint brush.

Didn't get a before shot (it wasn't as dirty as the Fiesta above!), but here is after shot....

Yeah, good stuff.

Use similar stuff at our garage. Spray the engine with degreaser, steam clean it (or jet wash it). Dry it off with the air line and spray on some engine lacquer.

Good as new

The only problem is that cheap engine bay lacquer can go yellow and flake off

also its an **** if it gets on the windscreen!

Matt and Rasher,
Didn't have the ***** to use the pressure washer, just used the hose pipe.
