I'm not sure I should tell you what I'm going to get to replace it. Suffice to say, it's not a Scoob, it's not even a performance car. It is cheap to run though which was unfortunately the reason the STi had to go. And it's got a blue oval on it. Ahem.

Hmmmm things aren't quite that bad!

It's gonna be replaced with a 2.0 Focus. It's actually a really nice car to drive, just a little bit slower than a Type R....

Cool

Richard

2.0litre Zetec ESP or 2.0litre Ghia?

Used to own the zetec, you will still have some fun down the B roads.

Hi Jay

Nope, financial reality kicked in (and a girlfriend telling me I need a "practical" car) so I'm going the "family car" route.

Lee

Yep, it's a 2.0 ESP. Really good fun car to drive and a fair bit cheaper. Not as mental as a scoob but I got to the point where I couldn't use the car properly (not on a public road) and I got fed up with all the hassle it attracts.

I suppose the saddest thing is that I'm actually looking forward to the Focus...

Interesting - my company car is a Focus 2.0 Ghia, and I basically think it is cr*p. I can't really understand why the Focus gets so many good magazine reviews. Underpowered FWD boredom. A colleague has a Zetec and that was no better.

Guess it depends on what you want. I've just got fed up with the Impreza's image (some bloke trying to kick my door in as I drove past him helped make my mind up on that one) and am kinda looking forward to blending in a bit more. Hopefully I'll return to mad cars in the future but for now I'm happy to be boring. The roads aren't really much fun anyway are they? I found that in my STi, I'd get really stressed because I couldn't overtake because of traffic. In slower cars, I find I don't care because I know I can't anyway!

Jay

The bald spot on the top of my head's growing - too much thumb pressure... As for the job, bit of a problem on that front - they aren't renewing so I've gotta go elsewhere. Nothing yet and 1 week to go...
