I知 after advice before I commit. I知 looking to built an engine and in not quite sure whats needed .
I drive a v1 wrx and would like to know if I could replace the ej20 short block for a ej25 and keep the same ej20 heads and bolt them on .
Would like to now what is need to do this and what has to be changed !
I have uprated the ecu to syvecs and also have 6 speed box a turbo good enough for 450+

i think you can, i had an ej25 with ej207 heads so pretty sure there wont be an issue with the ej25 bottom end compatibility. you will however need to use 2.0 spark plugs if memory serves me right
just make sure the ej25 bottom end has been fully forged as in std tune they are pretty ****

Check this link out on NASIOC, they call it hybrid motor
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2360114
Just remember that we have 99 and they dont so, we can get away with a good tune.
Please pay special attention to the ej20 head quench zone, as in an ideal world that would be machined and the compression ratio dropped with hybrid pistons JE hybrid pistons and the headgasket left at stock dimensions.
