I used to absolutely love Cosworths (Still do in fact). It is a real shame that they are all old cars now.

Still, its a lovely car mate, I hope your up for spending loads of money on it, I was talking to a guy from MADevelopments who told me that the money has to be free flowing if you take a cossie over 350BHP because the maintenance costs are phenomenal.

Also, Richard Branson once told me the quickest way to become a millionaire was to start as a Billionaire, and start tuning Cosworths.

Good luck mate

Cool

You ARE wrong on that count, as my better half has a UK300 and it runs rings round that in the directness of the steering and cornering ability. It might not have the same characterful "warble" as a flat four, but it has a very distinctive noise thanks to the WRC spec cams and head-work.

I would point out that the Escort Cosworth is one of the few cars that actually has spoilers that provide positive down force, so it sticks to the road like the proverbial poo to a blanket. In fact if you drove it upside down at over 100mph, it would fall off...

I'm sure the handling is fairly good Mike, but is it as predictable on the limit as a Scoob?

You've proven you can't drive 2wd, proven you can't drive 4wd - what next - going for an 18 wheeler?

Will be interesting to see what 0-100 times you get.

Looks nice tho - would say see you at Nat Day again, but doubt we'll be ready

You just need to get rid of those oval badges and it'll be quite nice

Mind you, you could have bought and driven a proper car over the 2 years it's been garaged for the money you've spent out !!

Craig,
Ooooh, harsh, but if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Fortunately I am as thick (skinned) as you...

Phil,
Wait until you go in it when it is running proper boost...

Daz...it is all in his mind mate, but i must admit 100bhp from a 1.1 aint nowt to be sniffed at though.

I did time him the other day.

0-60 a staggering 12.9secs
1/4mile 34.6secs speed 70mph
Top Speed 99.7mph

What a beast...Mike you should be damn proud..

Technical Specification:
ENGINE:
Type: Ford-Cosworth YBP
Capacity: 1993cc
Bore / Stroke: 90.82mm/76.95mm
Compression ratio: 7.56:1
Max. power: 436bhp @ 6020rpm @ 28 PSI.
Torque @ max. power: 374lb.ft
Max. torque: 419lb.ft @ 4000rpm @ 34 PSI.
Power @ max. torque: 322bhp
Specific output: 218bhp per litre.
Power / weight ratio: 320bhp/tonne.
Cylinders: Four, in-line).
Cylinder head: Works spec medium ported head with WRC spec profile cams.

Block: Cast iron (YBP), WRC tri-metallic head gasket, long-studded, with fully balanced bottom end (including rods) and high pressure oil pump.
Valve gear: Four valves per cylinder, operated by belt-driven twin overhead camshafts and inverted hydraulic bucket tappets utilising Isky valve springs.
Big wing (5½ litre) baffled sump with windage tray and Bailey crankcase breather kit with braided hosing.
Fuel and ignition: Webber-Marrelli fuel injection with Level 8 ECU, Pectel control board, Pectel monitor, water injection, Ford Motorsport leads, Grp A Webber Marrelli high energy ignition coil, AGPR 601 plugs, four Bosch 400 (light blue) injectors and 3 bar MAP sensor. Specially programmed Ahmed Bayjoo ISS (Intercooler Spray System) chip live mapped on engine dyno.
Cooling: SPEC-R header tank and SPEC-R swirl pot.
Induction: K&N panel filter inside a modified air box, T3/4 turbo with works spec 0.55 a/r exhaust housing, -31 actuator and Homologation charge-cooler / intercooler.
Installation: Front, longitudinal
Exhaust: Mongoose 3" system.

I haven't done any full bore launches yet in defference to the standard diffs (which explode with 300+bhp), but as stated a similar spec car (30bhp less) has done 0-60 in 3.3s and the standing quarter in the high 11s. When the Quife diffs are fitted, it should do something similar.

Phil,
I knew I could rely on you to lower the tone!

Jen,
I knew you would encourage him...
LOL

Phil,
Because when-ever I have any work done on the car, I always take photos / videos. Sad I know, but there you go - that's me...

The figures come from the dyno and the build up spec. Surely you know the same about your car, as you built it?

If that is the case, then how come you didn't spot my comments about you yesterday?
