Default Headlights flash when indicating

Hi all,
I've got a set of JDM HIDs on my 2002 Bugeye with the genuine Subaru Ballasts, I've used the 'Wagons Ho' loom to fit them and the ballasts are earthed direct to the chassis s the dips stay on with the main beam. I have recently noticed a problem in that sometimes whenI indicate or the indicators self cancel the lights switch off for a fraction of a second. Do you guys reckon it's the multifunction switch or have I damaged the wiring with too high a current draw into the HIDs?

Sounds like the switch. HID's actually draw LESS current than halogen
