On scoobyparts.com, you can order these new ‘crystal clear’ side repeaters that come with orange bulbs. Now since the bulbs are orange, won’t they show through the crystal clear indicators? Or can you get bulbs that are actually white but give off orange light (no smart-*** comments please!!)?

I was thinking that orange bulbs through crystal clear lenses will probably look a bit silly.

Have a word with Trouser at TSL. I was up there yesterday and he was telling me about some new, silver-coated bulbs that emit an orange light but don't show orange through the clear indicators.

Yes, you can see them through the lens. But you can buy silver coated orange bulbs that look much better IMO

The lamps you are looking for are lamps called 'Silvervision' which have a dichroic silver coating over the standard PY21W. They were developed by Philips in Chartres France in August 2001. The objective was to give the silver uniform impression with the reflector in a crystallite lens but flash amber. So far in excess of 1000000 lamps have been sold so you could say its been a success

Wink

I ordered them on friday and the guy said he'll post them that day - so I expect to find them at work tomorrow (Monday)...

I'll fit them at lunchtime probably, as apparently it only takes 5 mins to fit 'em!!

Which way do I slide the indactor lens to remove it?

Will keep u posted...

I just got mine now - I have to say that these things do look awesome - don't look like indicators at all...

The fitting looks a bit scary as its not just the lens cover, but the entire indicator - will have a look over the w.end - if you or anyone else have fitted them, pls let me know hoe to do it!

Cheers!

They are also available from here: http://www.powerbulbs.com

One set is £14.75
Two sets is £26.95

I bought two sets so I could do the fronts and rears of my car.

OK,

I fitted them last night, and I know this may sound really stupid, but they do actually change the look of the car...Well, kind of! But seriouosly, I never thought that indicators could look so good.

I would agree that crystals are the way to go, but the sidelights aren't crystal

If you could get crystal sidelights it would be much better. I have 'lensed' clear indicators as they IMHO match the sidelights and the orange (now silver on my car) vents better.
