So, which is best? PIAA Plasma Blue 80/80 H4's @ £62.12 + VAT a pair, or the Phillips Vision Plus equivalents @ £20. BTW, 1st PIAA bulb has blown after 22 months, and wiring has never welded to bulb (STi).

I've used both, and don't think the PIAA's warrant the triple price of Vision Plus...IMVHO

Also, the bulbholder welding itself on seems to be largely a myth - many people don't know that the wiring plug is held on to the bulb by safety tags and won't come off unless you push them in....

Fitted the Philips VP's today. They're much better value @ £19.50 than the PIAA @ £73, but I'll be quite honest and say I don't think they're quite as good. They're certainly miles better than the standard ones and better than the Halfords ones, but they're not so bright white as the PIAA. Fine adjustment is everything though.

The Phillips VP's run at 60/55 so they're actually legal.

I had the PIAAs on my car for about 8 months then one blew (they had been one another car previously). I've now got the Philips bulbs (from www.powerbulbs.co.uk) and although they are good I think the PIAAs are a bit better. I don't know whether they are worth 3 times the price of the Philips!

I got the Vision Plus bulbs, big improvement over standard, as quite a few posts have appeared, get them from www.powerbulbs.com, they are excellent on delivery and free side lights too!

Lightbulb

If money is no object, then the PIAAs are better, and a lot whiter, but for me there is no way they are any thing like 3 times as good, especially as I never managed to see a year from either of the bulbs. The Phillips ones are a massive improvement over standard
