Damn you... I just bought some angel eye halo rings off eBay for about £20 and was gonna fit them thinkin I was being original... now you've burst my bubble!
I de-tango'ed my lights a little while back and replaced bulbs with refractor LED's (piece of cake), and did my surrounds in black...
Found this pic of another Scooby with black surrounds...
I'm gonna fit my halo's next week... might just stick a ring in the full beam hole...

Sorry about the semi-hijack, but what bulbs do i need for the de-tango. (2004 STi)
Apparently, there's two fittings: bayonet and wedge-base. Something like PY21W.

Started off just doing the full beam as well mi self and then thought stuff it as then you get four nice halos instead of two.
Had them done for about a year now, just had one go pop so going to sort that over the next couple of weeks, other than that no probs!!
Full beam is easy as the halo fits almost exactly, outer ones are more difficult as you have to decide where abouts on the lense you want it to sit and then match the 2 sides up.
Couple of pointers, makes sure all your LED's sit at the same point otherwise it looks ****e.
I sandwiched mine between the reflector and the front cowl part, used some double sided silicon tape stuff just to tack them in place and then the surround hold them in place once you close the light back up!!

If you really wanna be class you'll get some high powered LED refractors like I have... they're the nuts! Altho you'll need to wire in a resistor to stop them blinking rapidly... all this can be done for around a tenner! You'll pay twice that for just standard bulbs!

When you open up the lights you can remove the inner cowling and get it sprayed black or gun metal which gives it the looks as above. Def worth doing as IMO it looks soooooo much better!
It so easy to de tango... just remove the lights, strip off all the electrical bits, remove all the little screws round the edge of the light holding the front part on, pop in oven for 10mins or so @ 100 degrees to melt the sealer...
Take out of oven, pull apart gently and Roberts your mothers brother! One little screw to remove the inner cowling and then snap off the orange bit. JOB DONE!

Could do them mate... I'm based in Hatfield/Edgware. Could do them in about an hour or two for you. If you want the inner cowling done aswel (strongly recommend) I'd need the headlights over night.
A box of 24 330ml bottles of Stella from Asda will see the job done!
I also have a set of amber bulbs for indicator replacement, but recommend you source some silver-amber flashers to give it the proper de-tango look!
...or I could get you ultra cool LED's (same as mine) for a very reasonable price!
You can just spot the little bugger in there...
pm if interested mate

Jees... You lot need to remove your ********* from your misus hand bag!
I set my kitchen lady straight from the start and said, "Woman, my priorities are as follows... numero uno is MY CAR, 2nd is YOU and so on..."
My clothes are still and and my dinner is on the table when I get home from work... for her reward - bedtime gymnastics are comulsory after all the rest is done!

I wonder what they'd look like in WR blue
Gonna try n do this myself soon, maybe I'll have a go
Still not convinced about the angel eyes though. If the lens for the outer lamp was round also, then I'd like it but I'm not sure

Copious amounts of beer (afterwards) if someone would do mine for me. The thought of putting the lights in the oven fills me with dread!
I'm in Northampton so not far from Simo
I've got the bright red blobeye, so not sure if getting the surrounds painted black would suit? what do others think?

Red & Black mate... top colour combo!
I was a bit hmmmmm about putting the headlamps in the oven on slow roast, but it work superbly and didnt damage them in the slightest!
Northampton isnt too far... if like Simo you want the de-tango done for you then pop down to north London and consider it done for a few Stella's!
