Default Clock has stopped working

On Saturday on my way to the Tempest my clock (time) stopped working. On a my01 WRX.

I've not had time to check the fuses and I can't find my handbook (house move etc) .

Does anyone know if the clock fuse only operates that function or does the fuse run the Cig lighter aswell? The cig light works as I was charging my PDA on the way from the Tempest.

Any answers would be great cheers.

Steve

Default Clock trouble

I can't help buddy but I can sympathise. That's the reason I came here - to try to find out what's wrong with my clock.

On my 02WRX the clock does not start with the car but comes on at random between 30 secs and 5 mins after you start the car!! Once its on though - it stays on. Very wierd. Now I want to sell the motor as I got a 02STI but can't find anyone who knows why this is happening!

I've seen it on earlier MY's where the clock is actually there but not illuminated. Try looking at a slight angle and you may be able to see that the time is actually there .... no use of course but there non the less. A slight slap on the top of the dash usually brings them back to life. This would indicate a bad connection, probably on the ribbon connections that the instrument clusters use which aren't always the best as the thin copper contacts can oxidise. Give it a slap ... it may work (small print .. I take no responsibility for either hand or dash damage while carrying out this action )

Yeah I reckon you're right Yam'. It's prob a bump in the road that's bringing mine back on or after it heats up and the contacts come under pressure again.

Thks for advice.
