Default Best place for PIAA lamps for a classic

Given up on the old Cibie Oscar Pluses - Really good light, but the crap design of the H2 bulb means that they blow way too often for my liking. Only paid £100 for them, so I ain't complaining.

So, I'll be upgrading to PIAAs. I know Scoobyworld sell them, but is there anywhere else?? Graham Goode used to, but not anymore.

Cheers

Kev

Cheers for the offer Kirby , but after the stress the second hand Oscars gave me, I'm leaning towards caution and the safety of a sellers/manufacturers warranty. Daft, I know...

Wouldn't bother if I was you: pigs to set up, and when done, you'll lose the settings every time you need to change a bulb, AND they vibrate at speed

Cheers for that, alc. I vaguely remember similar things being said about hellas.

So, any other sources for PIAAs other than Scoobyworld?

I have a set of PIAA 120W on each Wagon. Both sets came from David Reid at DR Motorsport. Good guy, helpful and reliable service. Fantastic lights, only blown one bulb in a total of five years between the two sets. One set is a pencil beam spot and the other is wider and called "driving" lights. Each have their pros and cons. You do not need to stick with PIAA bulbs when a replacement is necessary, Halfords have 130W bulbs that seem to be just as good at half the price.
Only niggle is that setting up the lights is not very easy. I do one light at a time with the fastening nut only semi tight. When I have them set I then remove each one, three set screws, tighten the locknut fully and refit.
If anybody dazzles you and ignores a polite warning you can burn their eyeballs out of the sockets. Night becomes day.
My lights are on a switch so I can choose to use them when I want but they should only be operational with full beam.

Cheers Harvey. I wired the Cibies in the same way, using the redundant front fog switch as a sort of master on/off. Worked well.

Had a look at David Reid's site - £30 cheaper than Scoobyworld

Try your Subaru dealer, they've been selling a bespoke PIAA driving lamp kit for nearly 10 years. The kit comes complete with everything you need including detailed fitting instructions.

Lightbulb

David Reid has run out of stock, so I've ordered a pair from Scoobyworld.

Incidentally, Scoobyworld have dropped their prices since this thread was started. They're down from £275 + p&p to £240 + p&p
