Unhappy STi8 main beam bulb holder question.

On the back of the STi 8 lights for the main beam there is a metal bulb holder attached to the plastic reflector area. This incorporates the hinge which clips the bulb in place.

Does anyone know if this part is available seperately?

I have a snapped hinge, as a consequence the bulb moves and is difficult to adjust.

I mean this bit....................

Thanks

Nathan..

Ha...Now this is funny...It happened to me as well...

I fixed it quite easily by just using a small cable tie to tighten the spring to the clip...
Had to take the headlight out to do it properly though. (a 5 minute operation, which I should have done in the first place).

Check owners manual for how to take out headlight.
The rest is really easy...just get bulb in position, and use cable tie to pull spring fast against clip.
Be carefull when replacing headlamp.

Unhappy

Has anyone seen a written off MY03 which has been front ended?

My bulb holders appear to have been modified by the dealer in Japan to take a non standard HID kit and this is why it will not now hold an H1 bulb or H1 HID filament properly.

You cannot buy the holder separately from the light unit

If anyone knows the whereabouts of front ended MY03 WRX or STi where the lights are smashed and useless I would be able to strip the holders off.

Helpppppppppppp pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

So, what bulb was in there then? If you took a H1 out, then you can put a H1 back.

The spring was cut on one side so it no longer holds the bulb tightly. Also the piece of metal the spring clips under has been cut off.

I've thankfully now found a dealer who thinks he has two smashed 03 headlights that I can strip these parts off and all will be sorted
