Question

Both the inside reflective bowls on my morrettes are badly pitted. Looks like there is a leak or condensation getting in somewhere. Before fixing this, is it possible to replace these bowls, or is it a case of stumping up for a new set of lights?

If it's on a classic, I'm afraid new light units are needed.
Available from Demon Tweeks.

If it's new age, I'm sorry, I don't know.

Cheers Alcazar, unfortunately its a classic. Looks like it'll have to be a new set of lights then.....
Anyone else do twin healights for the classic other than morette?

Question

If it's the outers, you can get 5 3/4" Cibie lights to suit a Capri from some motor factors.
It must be cheaper to replace a couple of lights than to put all new units in?

5 3/4" Cibie lights to suit a Capri
Interesting. Many many years ago i changed the std Capri lights for those from a BMW and were dead easy to fit.

I wonder if it's possible to fit the Bee Emm lights into the Morettes? Far superior to what the Capri ever had and a more modern design of lens.

The design of the lens (looks old) is what has put me off buying Morettes for mine.

Any thoughts?

Cheers for the replies. Unfortunately its both the inner (smaller) lights that I am having the problem with.

I'm a bit reluctant about buying another set of morettes now that this has happened, thats why I was wondering if there was anyone else did the twin headlight conversion for the classic. Plus like you say Alan they look a bit dated now...

Thumbs up

The inners are also availble IIRC, from the same suppliers.

As far as Beemer lights go, I have no experience.

I'd suggest taking one of your Cibies out of the Morettes, taking it to somewhere that sells the Beemer parts, then compare fixings to see if they'll mate up, or could be made to.

Cheers Alcazar, I'll give it a try - got to be better than forking out for a new set of lights....
