OK car is now in UK & i'm looking at the various options for the rear fog light.....
Now no offense to anyone who has one but the hang down types are a blooming eyesore IMO so looking for other options:
1) have a hang down type for 1 day a year if you know what i mean .
Dont really fancy that as however fast i maybe i'd still like plebs who tailgate in fog to be able to see my rear end
2) Convert a reverse light.
Nope dont wana do that as while like above it solves ugliness issue i like plenty of illumination when reversing as my garage is a total git to get into! ( OI you at the back stop mocking my reversing skills lol)
3) Do some funky rigging of the centre brake light so it can have a duel use as a fog light also via a flick of a switch.
I believe cars from N plate on also need a centre brake light though? So i presume this would be legally dubious (given mines a '96)? Any comments/knowledge of this out there?
or
4) i came across this funky suggestion on a rival board http://www.lancerregister.com/showth...ight=fog+light
Now 4 kinda floats my boat so anyone got any tips, suggestions or places to get such goodies other than those mentioned on the other board?
Cheers

What lights you got the car?
WHat year is the car?
With my classic i got the sti rear lights, and put the fog light in that. THere is another compartment in the sti lights which you make a whole and the fog fits nicely in there

When i can be arsed, i'm gonna fit one of those horrible fog lights on the bottom of the bumper. I'm gonna rig a hinge so it folds up out of sight, so on one day of the year, it can be pulled down for the nice mot man

well i couldn't possibly spoil my winding up by telling what car it is but the hang down uns sure r ugly & i dont really wana convert any lights, unless it's an addition rather than insted of type switch or sumin, & ideally i'd like fog light for when it is foggy rather than just for MOT
TC that looks pucker who'd you get to do that?

the brake light thing looks good if you can kinda of disguise it, in the lancer it should have been set behind the bumper in the slots and it would have shone through
the hyundia one looks really, really crap imo
no offence
i had a slimline one fitted under my bumper by the importer but it wasnt as slim as the brake light thing, so i removed it and stuck it in the bin, i used a reverse light lens and it passed the MOT fine

It came already fitted like that Si and IMO its a hell of a lot better than having in built into the clusters, that just looks crap without 2 reversing lights. It looks very straightforward to do tho Si if your competent trimming with a sharp knife

I went to the local Hyundai garage and ordered the complete rear fog light off an Accent as thought they looked neat and got my mechanic to cut it into my bumper and the end result was like the 2 cars above.

Mine has the offside reversing light converted as i too hate 'those hang down universal types'
High level brake lights are an option for all cars BUT if fitted must work for the MOT unless you can see they are not connected.
They cannot be used as a fog light because a fog light has to be a certain height from the floor to be legal.

Mine is in the rev light and your right its not very good !
I saw a Classic with a long thin brake light as the fog, it was flush on the bottom of bumper on the opposite side of exhaust, looked good and didnt hang down also would be as bright as fog
But wouldnt know if it would be legal ?????????
