Kirkiston Track Day
#1
Can I have a show of hands on who's going to Kirkiston on the 18/2/01 . Want to know if there's going to be anybody to talk to other than w***ers in GSI caviliers , etc. wearing baseball caps to hide the scar on their heads where the d**k was removed .
BTW has anybody any tips on the track ie surface , tyre wear , corners , facilities etc. as I've never been there .

I'll be in a dark red 2.2 legacy with 16" silver compomotives . You can probably guess the reg no .
Sul ,
How many cars were there ? Does anyone wear a race suit ( I don't want to be the only one ) ?
I suppose the d-heads wouldn't have time to go with having to work 2 jobs to pay for a car they can't afford and still find time for cruising the town .

Turbo,
About 15 cars in all.
3 Alfa Romeos, 4 Scoobies, 1 Evo, 1 Lotus Elise, 1 Caterham, 2 Cossies, 2 Civics and a few others that I dont recall.
One guy wore a suit, everyone wearing helmets, hired out if you dont have em.
I'll be in a white peugeot 205. Scoobies getting the day off.
Just a thought, but when I was there, I used a full tank of juice. and that was on 4 sessions. This time there will be 5 sessions, and the nearest filling station is quite a bit away - especially if youre looking for super UL. So it might be worth bring a jerry or two
Look forward to meeting you.

Sul ,
The way my car drinks petrol (20 mpg) I was planning to bring a couple of cans anyway - maybe even a fuel bowser .
Another pug fan then . My 3 previous cars were all pug 205's and I race a 309GTI stock car . I will be able to give you a few tuning ideas that you may not know of .

Turbo,
I wondered why you were asking about suits. Any chance you could email off group - I intend to stage my 205 and could do with some advice/spares.
Cheers

Are you sure your car can pull those massive wheels
If I was u I would wear my suit so when the GSI Cavaliers take you on the straights you can take off the suit in the paddock and no-one will know it was you saving some embarrassment
Maybe you should get a second job yourself and get a real Subaru with a Turbo and then drive around in your race suit like a real bellend !
Who the fack are you to slag off others who are maybe not as well off as yourself , GET A LIFE

Jackass....... Don't go living up to your name now. This is a light hearted board and don't take things to heart. If you drive one of the cars Turbo slagged off why don't you arrive and in it and make him eat humble pie. If you drive a Scooby why don't you GET A LIFE and enjoy the fun like the rest of us
Do we have a new Kevin2000 here or is it you in disguise Kevin. Whatever it is don't let it stop your vital contributions to this board.

Don't worry, I'll probably be in a scooby 1.6 gl, unless mines fixed by then (unlikely). At least you can all have fun betting a scooby!!
Still courtesy cars get a hard life, but I don;t know of any been on a track day!!

Jackass ,
I drive a '91 car with 120k on the clock in bad need of a respray so I wouldn't say I was well off . I just don't believe in living beyond my means ie buying a car I can't afford . My car is fully paid for and I would love to drive a turbo but I can't afford £2000 per year to insure it . Any spare cash I have is spent on my stock car as I believe in keeping my racing on the track , not the public road .
I'm not slagging off GSI cavaliers . I know it is a faster car than mine it's just that a lot of them seem to be driven badly by complete d/heads .

RoyC,
At the last day, there was a 1.6 Impreza GL, driven very well.
The turbos were putting in lap times of around 1min and 14 to 17 seconds. The 1.6 GL manages 1min 21seconds if I remember.
Makes you wonder - if it's all worth it - I.e 20mpg and mental insurance
Sul
BTW Anyone going to Kirkistown, bring a hand held stopwatch if you can, thats if you want timed.

You picked your handle well Jackass. Or did it pick you?
Have to run with Scruff on this one. Nice friendly forum .......lets keep it that way........ ALL subaru drives are welcome from Vivo, impreza, legacy, forster, it doesn't matter. In fact anyone with a civil manner is welcome. I hope the attitue changes soon Jackass or well see how many replies you get next time your looking for help.
An Attitude like that makes me sick

Are spectators allowed? I wouldn't mind coming along for a wee look round but the finances wouldn't stand the entry fee, coupla extra tanks of petrol AND a new set of tyres this month
