Titanic Super Special Stage
Thought you guys might be interested in some info. I received today
I'm sure some of you will have opinions on this although its nothing to do with the last Titanic Rally !! just the same location...
For Release 11th January 2005
Niall McShea, the 2004 Production World Rally Car Champion officially launched the Meteor Electrical Titanic Super Special Stage Rally at the Titanic Quarter, Belfast.
The event, taking place on Sunday 27th February, will attract the cream of Ireland’s rear wheel drive cars and drivers and is a celebration of Niall McShea’s success in winning the 2004 Production World Rally Car Championship. Proceeds of this Meteor Electrical Titanic Super Special Stage Rally will contribute in no small way to helping Niall in his bid for a top line drive for 2005.
For the first time in Northern Ireland, rally cars will compete head to head around a specially designed mile and three quarter stage. Spectators will be thrilled by the breathtaking skill of up to 70 of Ireland’s own clubmen racing against champions of past and present.
Launching the Super Special Stage Niall McShea said: “I am very excited about the Event and grateful for the support from everyone involved. It’s great to see such a quality line up with the best clubmen and machinery in Ireland coming to support it.”
Sponsor, John Conway of Meteor Electrical explained that he was pleased to be associated with the Event: “Having seen how hard Niall has worked over the past few years to achieve his 2004 Production World Title, Meteor Electrical are proud to support both this event and Niall in his attempt to secure a seat at World Rally Championship level in 2005.”
Event promoter, Damian Fleming of Schism said that the response already has been tremendous: “Jimmy McRae, Billy Coleman and Malcolm Wilson are just some of the drivers that have already signed up for the event in February.”
Ends.......

Should be interesting seeing billy back again. Its been along time since i last saw him at a rally. Nice that jimmy will be over too.
I sometimes think super specials can be a bit boring cos they are artificial and manufactured - well it looks that way on tv anyway. Maybe the real thing will be better. The race of champions in france before christmas wasnt overly exciting on tv. Its hard to beat standing half way up a tight mountain road for some real action.
Probably go anyway.
Will you be on tv again this year Jonathan??????

Agree with that esp. when its that high up you can hardly breathe and the weather changes within a few 100 mtrs.
Anyone up for a wee day out in the cold again?

Based on the last one I wonder how many will turn up to watch ?

Stop complicating things,I meant is anyone up for a day in the cold in Belfast (as long as it isn't raining when the alarm clock goes off)
